Remote

Pana units and remotes allow you to set different remote codes for different devices to avoid them interfering with each other. The manual for your recorder will outline the process for changing your remote. If you don't have a physical manual, search for one online or google the model number plus 'change remote code' or similar search term

Problem with the Panasonic DMR-ES30VS

Hello,

The problem is from the recording laser, it is quite weak and cannot work effectively anymore. Once it begins to record, the laser becomes weak during the process and stop to function, that is why it lasts for about 30 seconds. It need to be replaced before you will be able to record DVDs for you. Please do not try to record using it for the main time till the laser that records for you is replaced, if not you will continue to waste the recordable DVDs.

The DVD that have been attempted to be recorded on, will no longer be valid simply because there is already a file on it, no matter how little the file is, it will still not be able to record again, simply because the recordable disc undergoes recording just once, once it stops or comes out of the recorder it will be assumed full and cannot be used again. Except for viewing the recorded files that are on it.

Am very sorry about the losses of recordable DVDs, the only way to stop other losses is to replace the recorders laser.

Hope this was helpful to you.
Goodluck

DVD player. NV-VP32 shows F09

Hello

F09 indicates electrical overload. If you've got some basic soldering skills, you might open the case and check for a ruptured capacitor and try replacing it. Repair costs range about $50 a hour, plus parts, but parts usually only add another $10 or less. Check with a repair shop and see what the usual cost is, on average.

I have a DMR-ES35V DVD

Hello Lassie,

The picture jumping up and down suggests to me that there is a problem with the cable/s between the DVD player and the TV. Make sure they are all fully inserted and, if necessary, remove each connection one at a time and then re-connect it. There are other possible causes. Progressive scan may be switched on (and your TV or connection does not support this mode) or the output resolution of the player may be incorrect for your TV.

I don't want to tell you to change any settings without knowing a bit more about your equipment. Please can you answer the following quick questions to assist me in solving your problem:

1. Brand and model number of the TV?
2. How is the DVD player connected to the TV? (Type of cable)
3. Has this fault suddenly occurred? - Was it working before or have you just connected it?

If you don't know the model number of the TV, it will be on label on the back of the TV. If you don't know the type of cable you are using, please describe it as best you can, i.e. how many plug/jacks are on each end of the cable and are they color coded.

Please reply to me with these details by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

Thanks,
BElectric

My DMR-ES30VS died and I followed the advice of

I am glad you asked this question with some detail. The 'chip board' you refer to is the digital controller board - I presume it is under the DVD drive; it is possible that this board could be damaged due to the original blown capacitor which you have since replaced (under advice).

The ribbon connector with the slight 'nick' in it on one edge - if you check it for continuity with a multimeter for example, and none of the contacts within it come up as open circuit, you may be able to get away without replacing this.

As for the digital board, I regret to inform you that the only fix here is to replace the entire board. This may not be economical nor cost-effective, since there are many surface-mounted components on the copper side as well as standard ones, and there's a small chance the board may not be available, even a refurbished one; but you might be lucky in obtaining a refurbished digital controller board (or if you want to, you can call it 'chip board') for this model somewhere, then you can fit it yourself. That should fix the 'HELLO' then 'BYE' problem (assuming the power supply is OK, and there are no other problems with the unit).

I suggest that you try to find a refurbished secondhand working board for this model, and if you do, it should solve your problem for good. This is the only way that you can go without paying workshop costs; you pay for parts only if required.

Hopefully you will not need a workshop; fingers crossed.

Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I

Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.

SONY DVD PLAYER DVP-SR200P BUT IT ONLY SHOW IN BLACK AND WHITE ?

You have posted this in the Panasonic DMR-ES30VS section.
Please note which product section you are in before posting your question.

For the Sony DVP-SR200P there could be multiple reasons for it only showing in B&W.
Was this a recent problem, is this a new hook-up, has it always been this way?

  1. In the setup menu there is a setting for Custom Picture Mode.
Could someone have turned the color down?
You can go to the setup menu and "Reset" the player to the factory settings.
  2. How is this connected to your TV?
Check all cables to make sure they are plugged in, test each one by unplugging it, and then plug it back in fully.

If you are using a composite cable (1 cable yellow plug), be sure you have plugged it in from yellow to yellow.

If you are using the component (3 cables red-green-blue plugs) hook-up, be sure you are using cables only designed for component hook-up, and have plugged them in correctly, red to red, green to green, blue to blue (Be sure you've plugged the red cable into the red video not red audio).

Are the cables in good condition?
No breaks, loose connectors, they weren't smashed under a piece of furniture?
Have you tried a different set of cables?
  3. Test the DVD player on another TV.
    Does the same thing happen?
Did you "Reset" the DVD player?
Maybe the DVD player is bad?
  4. Find another DVD player and test it with your TV.
Does it work OK, or is it black and white too?
Maybe the connectors on the TV are bad?
Is there a custom setting on the TV for that connection?
On some TVs you can adjust the settings for each input (INPUT 1, INPUT 2, ....) maybe the color setting is turned down?
There are may possibilities, but these are some of the basic things to check.
Best wishes,
-Greg-
