I have a Panasonic HDTV Projection Monitor model
Three blinks is short protection in this model.
98% chance one of the protect resistors around the two STK-392-110 convergence chips is bad.
Good news here----total parts cost would be under 25 dollars on EBAY. I use a seller there.
I also have start to finish, step by step instructions for this repair in this set.
They tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair.
Let me know if you want help or the instructions--I can tell you how to look to see if the protect resistors are bad.
This is a very common problem and I have fixed hundreds of these sets with this problem.
If this information told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.
If you need more help or want the instructions let me know, we will find a way to get them to you for free.

It sounds like your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

no two sets will look exactly the same but you should be able to tell if your set has this type of problem.

I have a panasonic pt-47wx42 projection monitor.
The 3 blink error is caused by failed convergence ICs and the six 2.2 ohm resistors. Installing the convergence repair kit for your model should solve the issue. The kit is available from
www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the 2 ICs with heat sink paste, the 6 resistors and the cd with instructions

PANASONIC HDTV PROJECTION MONITOR MDL
The blinks are an error code - an indication on which is the part or the board that failed, not something to do with the settings. That can't be fixed with remote commands the tv will have to be opened and the faulty part/board replaced. You must count the blinks and post them here for a more precise diagnostic.

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from
www.TvRepairKits.com Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone outProjection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
- Screen looks 3D
- Colors don't line up
- One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
- Screen is bowed or warped.
- TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.
SOLUTION #1

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Panasonic Cinema Vision power light
5 blinks indicates that the micro-processor IC on the DG board has failed. A component level repair is usually not possible in cases like this and the board has to be replaced to resolve the problem. Board costs about 200-300$. Let me know if you wish to replace it yourself .

Hi,
This kind of distorted picture comes when tv got problem in convergence output section and mostly convergence output chips got bad that need to be replaced to solve the issue.
Chips replacement requires soldering work in tv circuit board and local tv repairman will do this job fr you if you have no prior experience.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

There's a fault in the high tension module - one of the tubes is having an abnormal power draw that causes the high tension module to overstress, that in turn activates the autoprotection of the power source, that shuts the tv down.
The tv must be opened and tested to identify the failed part/tube. This is a job for someone with a lot of experience, otherwise a bad move can be fatal - there are over 25,000 volts there. Time to call a repairman.
