My tv turns on but
Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

Re: Panasonic PT-50LC13
Lost video and
Hi.
If your power light switches over to red from green, and stays that way, then somewhere inside there is a capacitor, or more than one capacitor that has either totally failed, or, is slowly going out, and is just not operating at a good enough level for the tv's internal diagnostic to allow it to function normally.
I would check all of the capacitors, as there are a bunch of them, and without checking them all, you could easily miss the very one that is causing the fault.
Look for splitting of the casing, leaking cap gel, where it looks like the circuit board is wet around the capacitor, also, swelling, and stretching of the top of the cap.
You might want to check around the power supply as well, I have seen more than one that said they checked everything, only to find out that it was right there on the power supply, only they figured that was the one area that wasn't affected.
I hope this helps you out on where to look.
Good luck to you, and have a nice day.

Can i replace the bulb
yes you can replace the bulb yourself. On the front of your TV just below the card slot you can remove the long piece. It's just a cover and comes right off. Once you pull it off on the right side there is a small square door with a screw. Just unscrew and remove the door. Inside the door is the lamp. The lamp has one screw and you can just pull it out. Repeat steps to put back in.

I have a Panasonic 62
It's most likely the Bulb. We had the same issue with ours only 1 year after buying it. Luckily we purchased from Costco and called them. They had someone come out, replace it and didn't cost me a dime. (When I called Panasonic they said the lamp was covered under the 5 year lap warranty, but the labor for someone to come out was going to be $100.)

Tv will cut on then go off after about 40 mins
Most probably it is overheating - try to place it further away from wall, other furniture, remove all fabric or papers from it. Particularly pay attention to the air circulation holes - they shall be kept free from any obstacles. Also clean the dust off.
If overheating continues - bring it to the warranty or other service. This is not a rare occasion of such problems.

Tv turns off after being on for only a few min.
is there a flashing indicator light on the front panel ,,likely red ? it seems the internal circuitry is sensing a fault and shutting the TV down to prevent further more costly damage to the circuit
Hello, i will list the criteria required to service TV and projector
TV`s first and foremost you require a good understanding of how TV`s
work and the ability of reading schematic diagrams, then you require a
knowledge of how printed circuit boards are patterned so you can
navigate around them to locate possible trouble spots.
then you require
1 multi meter of good quality
1 oscilloscope 20 MHz or better
1 shop service manual pertinent to your type and model of unit you wish to repair
this is a minimum requirement of test equipment you can have
you also kneed a location or locations to obtain the replacement parts you may require to complete the service task.
Now if you have all the above criteria in place then you have some hope to service your unit
a flashing red indicator on your TV usually refers to an internal
circuit failure, most modern TV`s have circuits incorporated in the
circuit design to protect good working components not involved in the
fault from further damage so the set will not power up and an indicator
light will start flashing, trouble spots can be anything like power
supply under voltage, over voltage over current, no vertical deflection,
excessive high voltage, XRAY, convergence failure,, EXT EXT,EXT,
Warning rear projection televisions can harbor in excess of 30,000 ,yes that is thousand Volts
There are and never will be user serviceable components inside LOL
Now if you are ready and require further assistance you may contact me
and i will step you through the diagnostic procedures Good
luck

Picture went out and red
Hi, sorry about that. I hate that to when you buy something and it doesn't fix you problem. It is either your lamp ballast board or your power board. If you take the back cover off and turn your TV on listen to hear if you hear your ballast board fire up. The lamp looking at the back of the TV with the cover off is located to the left side. You should listen there to see if you heat anything and if not then more than likely its your power supply board that probably got zap but a surge.
Thanks for using Fixya and please rate..

Rear projection panasonic tv has a large yellow
Hi, this is not an easy fix. If you are technical you will have to pull the whole optical block out and please be careful with the connections because some of them are not on tight and you can tear the connection of the board. In the optical block there are 3 filters which look like little windows. One of them will either have a hole in it or discoloration. You will not find this part separate. You will have to find another optical block that still has them in it for parts or repair.
Good Luck and thanks for using Fixya. Please rate me.

Pt-50lc13 tv...where is the ballast
Hi, if you take off the back cover of the TV. Once you take the cover off there is a metal plate in the middle that has to come off. Behind the metal plate you will see a metal box with holes in it, thats the ballast board. It can be a number of things. It can be the ballast board or the power supply board. Take the back cover off and turn the TV on. You should hear the ballast board trying to fire. It will try at least 3 times before stopping. Is your lamp light on in the front of the TV.
Thanks for using Fixya, If you have any other questions please let me know.

I have a Panasonic model#
Hi,
Unfortunately, it could be either a thermal issue or a ballast one.You need to open the unit and clean all the 4 fans. Check whether they are running. Then you need to clean the filters.
Be advised that this set could be dangerous to work on. You need to take all the precautions before you inspect or replace component.
Let me know, once done so that we could proceed further.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
