F61 indicates a shorted output amplifier. Not sure why the service center did not see that. It would explain the higher resistance. The only fix I know is replacing the output amp.

This indicates a shorted output amp. best to have a pro repair it.

Your power cable is pretty easy to get hold of. It's a standard "figure 8" type mains lead. I'm from the UK and can get them from Maplin Electronics store (high street shop). If you're in the USE, somewhere like Radioshack or simular should stock them also. You can also get them on ebay. cost around £2.00 or so. Again the lead connection ype is called a "figure 8". why? well turn 8 on it's side and it looks like the connection :-)

Make sure your remote has all new batteries. It might only be running a partial side of remote. Test the battersies?

There should be a setting on the DVD's menu for output of picture. You should look under colour settings, to see if it has got NTSC output. You should also check your TV it might not be set to NTSC aswell. You can look in the user manual of the DVD to see if says anything about NTSC playback. If you have lost the manual you can download it for free on the Panasonic website.
If it won't playback NTSC discs, I'd guess you can get an adapter from somewhere.

To keep it simple, this means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs
