In that case, you will need to replaced the base cover if its the DC port or if its the MOBO, the motherboard is need to be replaced. You can contact Lenovo for that, if the system is still under warranty or you purchased an extended warranty, they will be able to send the laptop to depot for free. If the system is not under warranty anymore, the process from Lenovo is you will need to pay an $80 non refundable qoutation fee,that is for the diagnostics of their technician and for the one time shipping. You will send the laptop to their depot which is in Texas by your own expense. Once they verify the exact problem,someone will call you to provide you the information on how much is the total cost,but the $80 that you initially paid will be deducted from the final charge. Looks like the LCD has a problem. You can try to do basic torubleshopoting first by draining the electrostatic charge of the motherboard. Take out the battery then unplug the power adapter from your computer. Press and hold the power button for 15 secs. Put everything back in then turn on the computer. If same thing happened after doing this procedure then you need to contact Lenovo for repair of this computer. The number is 18774536686 then press option 2.

Restart your computer & start tapping f/8 immediately and keep tapping until black screen comes up. Use the arrow keys to select safe mode the press enter. It will start up in safe mode in each corner, the icons are all out of shape and a help window will open. Close that window. Then go to: Start, Accessories, System Tools, right click System Restore & send to desk top.(The reason to do that will be to use it easier ANYTIME you have a problem.) Then do a system restore back to a time before you had the problem. That should resolve it. If not you will have to do a Recovery after saving everything you want to keep on a Flash Drive. First of all, you need the present password. Then straight after turning the computer on you press F12 or insert multiple times after each other. That way you will stop the normal boot and enter the BIOS settings. There you most likely will be prompted for the password and then under security you can disable or change it.
