Sony XM-1502SX Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
Installed amp and offset light
- You have a ground loop somewhere. You need to check where your amp is screwed into at and make sure it is not to the metal on the car itself. Check your Power and Ground wire connections good to. What's happening is your amp is generating unnecessary DC current. Find your loose or shorted connection and this will go away. The majority of the time you have a loose or insufficient ground connection.

Offsett light
usually this is from having the load shorted. make sure that the wires are not touching where you plugged them into the speaker. also check that you have the correct load at the speaker with an ohm meter. you should have between 2-8 ohms
My amp is not turning on.
check power from battery
ground
and remote
if you have power from battery then either your ground or remote power is not working
NO LEFT CHANNEL
I would do a volt test one the channel that works, then take the volt on the one that is blown and compare if voltage is lower or none at all you could have burned up a wire or a circuit inside of the amp.
Sony xm
internal heat capacitor or even a bad connection indside amp is bad giving you a hi output load wich the amp has an auto matic sensor to send it into this offset you speak of so it does not burn up
Lit up like a christmas tree
If they're green, that's normal. IF they turn amber, there's a problem. The lights don't indicate whether the power supply is working or not. If you get no sound, the power supply in the amp may have failed.
Over current light comes on.
Over-current lights are often caused by speaker wiring or impedance problems. If you're trying to use the amplifier in bridged mode to both subs, that may be causing the problem; re-wire the speakers so that each sub is connected to one amplifier channel.
If you still get the over-current light, disconnect all speaker wiring from the amp and see if it still occurs. If it does, there's an internal problem with the amp. If it doesn't, then there's still a wiring problem with the subs. You may have a defective sub, or a speaker wire shorted against another wire or terminal.
