Go into settings and look at the wireless section. Select the wireless connection that you normally use and try to connect. Tell us what happens from there. home volume down and power when logo comes on remove finger off power the volume then home now plug in to pc/laptop with Itunes and restore pod with Itunes.

Hold down the power button and the home button.This will "force" turn you're device off.

Yes you can but i would not bother just yet as i have read today Business Insider published a side-by-side comparison of common apps and pages in iOS 6 and iOS 7.
