KV- 32V40 Fusible resistor always blow-up

hey...glad im not the only one in this mess....thank god i have an electronics background as i my offer some help. i found that Q601/Q602 were shorted, replaced with NTE2582 transistors, but also there is another fusible resistor located next ti the transformer on the powersupply board(board G i believe)same as the other(1/4-1/2 watt .1-.15 omhs)well i thought all was well until i pluged it in and both fusible resistors and the transistors blew right away....led me to the H-OUT transistor, right next to the flyback, on the main board...sure enough it was shorted as well. that part is 2SC5148(not the NTE part #), , and will put it in after work tommorow...looks good so far and will, even with my mistake will cost several hundred dollars less than taking it to a tv shop...and thousands less that the plasma screen the wife wants....this 32inch has been good to me for 9 years, and im going to help it along for another if possible. you cant email me at [email protected] if youd like.....thanks and good luck

Slanted picture!!

This problem might be caused by an external magnetic field. Most modern Sony tv sets have a picture rotation control. Go to the setup menu and select Picture Rotation. Your user guide will explain.

There are no adjustments for this problem,if the unit has been working good for 3 years and suddenly gives you this pix is time to call a qualified technician, among many reasons you might have loose solder conections in the horizontal drive circuit or poor regulation problem in the power supply,if you dont know how and where be safe and call a Technician.

MY TV THAT HAS NO PICTURE BUT THE SOUND STILL THERE

This is a common problem for sony tv sets. Most of the time it is cold solder connections on the horizontal driver transformer or around the flyback transformer.

One of the front control switches, that are located in the back of the buttons on the front of the set most likly are damaged or broken. These switchs are small and your going to need to pull out the entire chassis of the TV set to replair or replace them. If you have solid state TV repair experience thenm it should not be a big deal, but if you DONT please seek out a local tech to assist you with this repair as sliding out a TV printed circuit board can be a tricky thing, as it can bend ,crack or pop the surface mounted componets right off the board. A repair like this shouldnt cost alot. really all depends on if the board is damaged or not. good Luck

Picture goes off an on "blinking" when turened on

Most likly is a cold solder connection in the horizontal oscilator circuit, a problem with the vertical sweep circuit, or could be in the video jungle circuit. Unless you know how to troubleshoot solid state electronics, A TV set is not the place to be experimenting in unless you wanna get seriously killed!! Call out a pro to assist you if you feel you like the set and dont mind investing a few hundred bucks. Good Luck

Sony Tv 29 Inchs, The Picture Keep Swiching off and replaced by fable shadowi pinky multi colour light

Your symptom description is a little vague. Is there sound? Is there a full screen? Assuming there is a full screen and sound I would look for bad solder joints on the boards. Particularly the CRT board but really just resolder all the connections in the set. The KV series has been plagued with more than their share of bad solder joints. Give this a try first and if this doesn't solve it give us a more detailed explanation of the problem. Good luck.

Sony KV-32S26 32" TV press switch on button, three flashes ticks and off again...?!

Paul first off, how much experience or training have you had repairing tvs?? None?? Ok Paul, theres Hi- voltage and X-ray radiation issues that you must know to work on these sets because of the hi voltage these sets store inside them EVEN when they are unplugged. Now its great you wanna fix this your self. But Paul, These sets have no user serviceable parts inside them that you can test such as tubes. Everything is soldered in and most of the time you can't just see something thats bad. You need special test equipment to trouble shoot these solid state sets. Now if you are a tech then the first thing I would check would be the horizontal output transistor. If thats shorted, then order that as well as a flyback transformer to replace at the same time.. If the transistor was'ent shorted then I would look at the solder connections on the horizontal driver transformer and see if a drive waveform was getting to the base of the horizontal output transistor. Then if all this looked good I would look at my switching power supply to see if the voltages were being loaded down when the set was being turned on. Paul do you see my point??? Good. Please pay for the est., as its better then getting your self killed over a few bucks!!! Good luck

Sony KV-32S26

LOL No BP its not a hot solder problem . Your problem with this model is called a cold solder connection, and is very common! Its location is a secret. HE HE just kidding!! Had ya going didnt I?? LOL Ok its the primary as well as the secondary connections on the Horizontal DRIVER transformer AND/ or the little coil right next to the transformer. It needs to be resoldered BUT should be donr by a quilified service tech as theres alot of Hi voltage inside these sets and is not a place for a handi-person to be tinkering around in. Its no biggie to have a tech do the job right the first time .. Good Luck

My tv have a "background" acute noise

This is a problem in almost every tv set made as whats causeing this noise is a loosly wound coil or transformer thats vibrating so fast cause theres a tiny gap in between the windings that it makes a noise or "sings". Sorry to tell you to fix this problem could be a hit and miss thing as it could be in the deflection yolk on the neck of the picture tube ,the flyback transformer, the horizontal driver or power transformer or one of the many many coils on the circuit board. If you have no training on tvs then this is not a repair you should try. But to find out where the singing coil or transformer is could be very time consuming and if you do find it theres only a few small things you can do to try and stop the singing. Like sqeezing around the top and the bottom of a coil some silicon and letting it dry before you turn on the set or for a transformer you can take small homemade shims and stick them around the core or underneath but dont break the core!!! other then this simply replacing the part works most of the time too. Good Luck

Channnel keeps flicking like your changing channels with remote

when you say flickering??? are you saying the screen goes black and comes back on?? does the sound go out at the same time and comes bag on with the pic ? Is the sound there when this happens but is distorted. Is the pic blacked out or is it greying out with lines and twisting?? Need more info please as if its blacking out and the sound goes with it it may be going into shutdown. If the pic is getting kinda greyish with it twisting and the sound is there and ditorted then the tuner could be bad
