dear, you can check that transformers out put before connecting to a tv. also when its connected to a tv.
get a avo meter and connect in series with a tv.
observe the current on the intial switch on and when the picture goes. if you notice that current on intial switching is high and then it starts going lower and lower, then change the transformer.
but if the current starts going up from the intial current then check the power supply components of the tv.
thanks for asking fixya.

Burnt electronic smell even hours after tv turned off

Hello,
Its behavior is not normal. Have it repaired. Fumes are hazardous to your health especially to the little one's health. Think of a fire hazard too. As the adage says :No fumes without fire.

Hope you decide to be rid of the bomb or have it repaired.

Kp-46wt510 rear projector from sept. 2003

You have a failure in the convergence circuit. There's a circuit board ( the convergence board) which has 3 IC'c on it that drive yokes on each of the picture tubes red-green- blue. You probably lost power to these IC's or one or more may have opened up. Sometimes poor solder joints on these IC's will develop causing loss of convergence. Hope this gives you an idea as to where you problem is. Stargazer

Sound no picture on cable

sweetkiss, if it works through the dvd player and not on cable/satellite box then the tuner is bad, if you have any type of cable/satellite box try running A/V cables out of the box to video input on the back of the tv and switch the tv to that video input, ie; vid 1, vid 2 etc. (your using one of those inputs for the dvd) this will give you your picture back, you can of course also replace the tuner in the set, good luck, BMW Rider

Sony Trinitron: No Picture

It is likely the HOT (horizontal output transistor) and a couple of associated capacitors.
common failure.
the HOT is around 8.00 and some for the caps.
but almost no tv person works for less than 100. and provides a warranty. so you can expect 150. at least for a bill.
