Dynex TV Problem
Try a "hard restart". which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics, to a certain extent.
You can also visit the manufacturer's website or call their tollfree number for problem solving info.
Hope these suggestions help you out.

This can be a scan amplifier failure, failure in the high side of the main power supply, the picture tube may no longer be having emission, or the heater supply to the picture tube may not be working. There are many parts inside the set that can cause failures.
You will have to take the set in for proper shop service by an experienced TV tech.

Picture bowing up in middle
The most common cause for this are electrolytic capacitors in the pinn amp and scan amplifiers going out of spec with age and use. It is more rare, but it is still possible have other support components go defective in these areas. This fault is refered to as pin amp distortion.
I have repaired many of this type of problem over the years.
If you decide to troubleshoot this yourself, take care about the high voltages employed in the TV set.

The most common cause is, shadowmask inside of the CRT is magnetized. It sounds by your description that the TV's internal degausser for the CRT is not working. This is serviceable by a service tech.
Most of the time the cause of a failed degausser is the thermoresistor. This is a common type of failure.
Another cause that can show the fault you are seeing is if the shadowmask in the CRT is defective. Sometimes the mask is damaged when the set is being moved, and is accidently banged against something. The CRT is sensitive to this type of treatement.
If the mask inside of the CRT is defvective, the only fix is a new CRT.

Slight bowing of picture
Only on newer TV's, yours (I dont think)has the adjustment, if it does it would be in the menu area.
36XBR450 fix myself?
Most probably, the secondary power output of your TV's switching power supply is not functioning. You have to trouble shoot the secondary power which also leads to HT supply in the Horizontal circuitry.
No picture but has sound
hello .this does sound like bad solder joints .all printed circuit boards do this after a while due to heating and cooling .is not advisable to try to repair yourself .possible electric shock and spiking .will do a lot of damage .take to a shop to have repaired
DELL 42 inch Plasma TV
I have a 42" LG LCD TV and just experienced this today. Watching cable,
then the screen went to black, but audio continued. I pressed the guide
button on my remote and pic came on with my guide menu. But then went
to black again 10sec later and has remained that way for nearly an
hour. Tried switching off both cable box and TV, disconnecting and
reconnecting cables, but no luck. Finally unplugged mains, waited a
minute, then turned back on. Everything seems normal now after the
reboot. Phew.
Descripticve Dialog on SAP?
Sony usually has a button on remote....MTS maybe....push =
cycles....Main...SAP....Mono.....
SAP = second audio program...........................T.

Hello buddylaw,
Can you post a picture of the TV screen with the problem? It will help in the diagnoses. It looks like you may have a thermal sensitive component causing this issue. But I will have to seen a picture of the screen to properly diagnose this problem as to the possible section that may be causing this problem.
Thank you.

Red Colour is faded....looks almost purple?
This might be caused by the CRT or by the chroma circuitry. You will need a schematic diagram and a multimeter set to read voltage. The first thing would be to look at the voltages on the CRT socket. With the
TV on and the back off, using the schematic measure the voltages on the CRT socket and see if they match the schematic, if they do not (and they wont) find out if the Red Cathode voltage is too high of to low. If too high the red video circuitry might be at fault if too low the CRT might have a Cathode to grid short. In either case power down the TV and with determine if the CRT is bad (using a CRT Tester / Rejuvenator) Run a series of test acording to the instructions of the CRT Tester. This will tell you if the CRT is bad and if it is bad what problem it actually has. Then you may or may not have to rejuvenate the CRT (follow the instruction on the Tester / Rejuvenator) to do this. If the CRT is not bad then you will have to test the chroma
video circuitry to see which component is causing the problem.
As you see you will need some equipment to do the job with. and you will have to have a little bit of an
electronics background, If you do not have these I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop for servicing.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,

Tv powers off after 11 to 15 minutes !
He probably means the Deguassing coil, which is around the set. This is needed when the set is first turned on. Because of the earth polarized field, when you turn your set to the east, west or just a different degree, it affects the Deguassing area. This sometimes looks like a rainbow affect in your set, and sony's are bad about them. But all in all Sonys are good sets. If it does not go away it could be a problem with your picture tube, or the is a Magnet somewhere close by, like speaker or some type of big magnet. If so then remove Magnet and turn off and on until disappear. Is the pic good when running? Does the set comes right back up if you press power and wait another 11 to 15.?
SAP change with no remote
The set is definately in the SAP mode, which will have some channels in spanish and some channels with no sound at all. You might be able to get an inexpenxive universal remote and go through the menu to return the audio setting to stereo, but if that does not work then you can order an original Sony remote by model number from Union Electronics at 800-648-6657.
Channel jumping
Sounds like the PIP feature is causing the problem with the TV if you are connected directly to cable TV without a box inline and getting these issues.
Half a picture
Dont use the set and call a service tech, you might have loose conections in the horizontal circuit,if you keep using it for this problem it might become worst.
