20" sony trinitron KV-20fs100 no signal
It is very possible that the tuner and IF modules have failed. On more rare occasions, the supply voltage to these modules may be missing because of failed components in the regulator circuit that feeds the front end area.
Some other areas of failure can be the uPC controler may not be addressing the front end functions, or the input switching control is not working properly.
The mentioned problems would require an experienced TV tech who has the service manuals, and the tools and facilities to troubleshoot and service your set.
If you decide to have the set serviced ask for an estimate. It may be expensive to fix.

Wega XBR
The set is detecting a problem and shutting down to prevent further damage. The standbyu light on the front should blink a repeated count with a slight pause. Post that count here as it indicates the circuit in which the problem was detected. Armed with that info, we should be able to provide you with the likely defective parts and cost to repair.
Thanks,
Dan

The standby light should be blinking a repeating count with a 2 second pause between counts. Can you post hte count here please? That will help to determine the effected circuit and the solution.
Thanks,
Dan

36" Sony Wega - no power
There are of course internal fuses, but I suggest you better call a technician if you are not an expert, because you can blow the tv trying to rectify power supply problems. If the fuse is blown, there must be a faulty component behind that.

SONY Trinitron XBR 36" - Power on Issue
Called Sony and got the Authorized Service rep. It was becoming obvious that I was going to need a part and most likely a D-Board and it is not worth my time to pretend like I could install it without a lot of cussing and frustration.
$220 for the D-Board part and $260 labor to install (I still have to move the behemoth out of the built-in wall unit!!). This solution on carries a 90 warranty on parts and labor so.....if this happens again - well... let's leave that polite discussion for another time.
(PS - turned the TV on this morning and it powered up??!!?? Now I am afraid to turn it off again)

No Signal through on my main TV input.
This may be the tuner or IF module that is failing. It may also be a voltage supply fault to these modules. It is impossible to accurately speculate without actualy troubleshooting the set.

It is obvous that the aspect ratio that you are watching the program in is the native mode if you see the proportions correctly. If the native mode was in 16:9, it would not stretch when you change to this mode.
The broadcaster may be down converting all their video to 4:3 because the majority of sets in his area are still on the old aspect ratio.

SONY WEGA 36" TV, BLANK SCREEN NO SOUND
Most commonly, the power supply, and or scan failure causes this. There may be some bad caps, in these areas. In the horizontal output area, the flyback and the horizontal output transistor may also be defective. There may also be some damage to the power supply in this case.

No picture only sound
You have to start by verifying the power supply outputs, the scan drive outputs, and the CRT emission.
I would think you have to bring the set in to a service shop to have it properly checked.
