Tv is in stanby mode.

The problem is in the main board of the tv, it is either a power supply issue or a high voltage problem. In order to isolate you will need a tv tech to check the set out and cost involved.

Welcome to Fixya
Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. I think it helps

Sony Trinitron KD-28DL10U switched off suddenly to

Hello

In time as the Sony Trinitron ages it begins to have power issues. While this can be true of most tube televisions it's the rate and severity at which this happens to Trinitrons that makes it particularly of note. Many Trinitron owners have complained of the Trinitron set turning itself off randomly and frequently. Some sets have failed to stay on for longer than a few minutes at a time. Eventually some sets will not turn on at all. These problems grow more severe with age.

Check the power cable running from the Sony Trinitron 32. Make sure the cable is completely inserted into the power connection on the rear of the TV as well as the local power outlet.

Disconnect the power cable from the electrical outlet, then plug it into a different connection. It is possible to electrical outlet has died, forcing you to obtain a power current from a different source.

Check the cable connection running from the cable/satellite receiver or VCR. If the TV is on but no picture is on the screen, the problem is most likely due to a connection issue.

Power off the cable/satellite receiver, then press the "Video" button on the remote control to switch the Trinitron 32 to the video input signal. Turn on the cable/satellite receiver and the programming now loads onto the television screen.

Can this be used as a monitor for a computer?

Hello
Sorry. The answer is you can't. Computers output comes as VGA [Video Graphic Arrey],or AGP [Advanced Graphic Protocol]; and it is not directly compactable with TV inputs. The computer outputs, Red_Green_blue and Horizontal and Vertical synchronisation signals seperatly through one VGA cable which goes into the monitor and there they gets processed and you see the image on computer monitor. Monitors are equipped with such circuits to process the same, whereas in the TVs there are not. Your TV is equiped with S-video connection and not have a VGA input connection.
You must buy a VGA to RGB converter for this purpose. It can be bought from the electronic market, and will have instructions and remote control of its own to control it. You must give the computers signal [VGA], to the input of that converter, with a [VGA to VGA] cable and from which the converter outputs R_G_B [Red_Green_Blue] along with an other output contains synchronisation signal, as described earlier, and will have directions in its manual where should it to be connected. Different converters have different confugurations for this connection, and it will be described in its manual. Ok.

TV red light blinks seven times. Is this a code

Hello,

Yes, it is a code for the problem affecting the television. 7 blinks most likely indicates a power problem and in some cases, it indicates a bad lamp problem.

When you open it up is when you will be able to tell which exactly is the problem with the television.

For power problem, it might be that there is a burnt capacitors on either the main panel of the power panel.

Once you check you will be able to detect it and replace it with a new one, and if it also is the lamp, that way you will be able to tell and replace the lamp if it truly is the problem.

Take care and good luck

Hi,
Question shows it is Sony KV-34HS510 tv that is picture tube (CRT) tv
Symptom shows tv has some strong magnetic field nearby, specially at top right corner area, please check any speaker or some thing that has magnet inside, remove that thing from tv to fix the issue.
Strong magnet will affect color picture tube and can cause different color in that affected section.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Sony Wega KV-34HS510 standby blinks

Hi and welcome to the site,

Initially, the Sony KV-34HS510 uses the DA-4 Chassis. On this chassis, 7 blinks refers to the fault "Horizontal Deflection Stopped" indicating a problem with the horizontal section. Offhand, check, replace the HOut transistor and have the FBT (flyback transformer) ring tested.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

hori output transistor shorted, bad FBT flyback transfomer defective tube,
video IC on CRT board and 2k volt blue high voltage capacitor it feeds to hori output transistor.

Sony kv-34hs510 stuck in standby

Sony Blinking Codes
Many of the later model Sony TV's have a built in Self- Diagnosis function. If
the timer/standby indicator is blinking, this could be an indication of the
problem with the unit. The diagnostic blinking will occur automatically with no
action required by you to engage it.
The timing of the blinking you see would be as follows: two to eight blinks
(depending on the fault) about a third of a second apart, then pauses for 3
seconds, then the two to eight blinks about a third of a second apart again.
Here is a list of the problems that might have occurred indicated by the
number of blinks. The words in parentheses are those which you will see for
each of these faults on a diagnosis screen described later in this article.
Unit is dead and there are no blinks---Problem in the standby power
section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should
show open)
Continuous Blink Once A Second, No Pausing As Discussed Above---
No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or held
high), IK video path is defective.
ONE Blink--- not used for the self-diagnosis
TWO Blinks---B+ over current protection (OCP) , unit goes to the standby
mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of
any of the circuits.
THREE Blinks---B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby
mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power
supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
FOUR Blinks---No Vert. Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single
horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505
FIVE Blinks---AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about
30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with
the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C
board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking,
try turning up screen slightly.
SIX Blinks---No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking selfdiagnosis
function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
SEVEN Blinks---High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k
and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply
regulation and horizontal circuits.
EIGHT Blinks---Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and
blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401 and 402.
Intermittent problems ?? This is a great feature. You can also bring up
these fault codes ON-SCREEN to see a list of the problem numbers with the
abbreviation of the problem and the number of times this problem has
occurred. This is slightly different than entering the service mode. To see the
diagnostic screen, Press the following buttons:
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink
codes.
So, now that you know about these self-diagnostics, how do you use them?
Say that you have a set with a black screen. You see that the LED is blinking
4 times....This would tell you that you have no vertical and that is why the
video is muted. If it was blinking 6 times, you would know that you have a
horizontal fault.
It's not a sure cure, but it's a little better than a poke in the eye with a sharp
stick.
IMPORTANT: after you repair the unit, PLEASE clear the values on this
diagnostic screen. These codes do not reset themselves after the fault is
corrected, so if you don't clear them, you'll be seeing "old" fault codes the
next time you enter this screen.
Clearing is done by going into the service mode ( display, channel, 5,
volume plus, then power ) then press 8 and Enter, which of course returns
everything to the factory preset condition.

I need mczz3001d OR mcz3001db IC but not found in

Search on eBay or elsewhere for part number MCZ3001D **or** MCZ3001DB I understand the "DB" part may be an upgraded revision of the original "D" part. I am in the same boat -- 7 blinks on the Standby light. I plan to buy these parts and attempt to fix it myself. I recommend buying the DIP sockets not just the chips themselves, it should be easier and should make it easier to replace in the future if it happens again.
