tv wont turn on when i hit power it makes the clicking noise like it is going to turn on, but never does and the red timer light next to the power button just flashes.
help!
Well, I have found out that the number of red light blinks is a "blink code" that indicates the nature of the fault with the TV. Usually these are various failures of internal fuses or circuit boards. There's a fair amount of information on threads at techlore.com on this, so try searching there. Teh specific codes and manuals are usually it seems under license from Sony and not available for free to the public. Sorry!

While watching a TV show on my Sony Trinitron, the picture will disappear (screen goes black), but I have sound. If I turn the tv off/on, the picture will come back, but later it will turn back to black.
Hi, IK circuit is engaging which basically means the picture tube is getting tired, the only "fix" is temporary (may get another year out of it). You have to increase the "screen control clockwise".
Remove back of set, follow large black or red wire attatched to picture tube down to the flyback transformer, mounted on flyback are two black controls, one is focus (leave it alone) the other is "screen", adjust it clockwise approx. 1/4 inch, remember that this is a high voltage circuit so use one hand in the set the other hand out of the set at all times,any questions ? e-mail me back, good luck, BMW Rider

If red led blinks continously , please check horizontal o/p or EHT screen control reduce and check for power on

a few days ago my tv went Pink. What do you think it could be. It is 4 years old. pink flashes on the screen. different parts of the screen at different times. comes and goes. very pale pink flickering.
Most likely the green electron-gun in the CRT is failing.

We have a Sony WEGA KV-27HS420 Hi-D TV we purchased June 2005 no problems since then until today, when it failed to turn on. The standby timer light flashes 7 times. We tried unplugging it from surge protector for 60 secs and plugging it back into wall socket as suggested by website, to no avail. Does the 7 flashes tell you something specific about the problem? Thanks in advance for any insights. Thad in GA
Follow the instructions from the image provide and see if that works, if it does not work; you have a hardware failure in your TV. The hardware failure could be the HOT or flyback transformer.

I tried turning it off then on again and you can see that it tries to turn on then shuts off again flashing the light. I checked the bulb but it is o.k. is there a fix for this? the standby timer keeps on flashing then turns off but no picture or sound how can i fix this thank you
IC/high power transister(s) and/or other componentshas gone bad gone bad - usually from a power surge. These will have to be replaced. A technician should check these out for you.

I have a Sony KV-27FS100 TV. It always shows a green 3 in the upper right corner--the channel to which the TV is set (to receive a signal from a cable box via Tivo box). I want to remove the 3.
When I press Menu on the TV remote and go to "channel," there is a menu for "channel label." It's supposed to let me enter the call letters of any given channel rather than the channel number.
But I can't find a way to change the settings so that the channel number goes away. Any ideas?
Press " i " (info) button on Sony TV Remote so on-screen display will disappear.
