Universals are hardly universal----if you want results here buy an original remote from Samsung---yes will cost more but will work---your time and aggravation are worth something if can be avoided.

How to set up vhs taping

Most VCRs need to be connected in a daisy chain or a splitter from your input source. (You may need a tuner with some VCRs these days; either a digital to analog converter for a VCR with an NTSC tuner or a different tuner source.)If you have analog cable or a cable box with coax out and a VCR with an NTSC tuner, use the daisy chain method. Connect the incoming cable or the coax out from the cable box to the VCR's coax input. Then connect the VCR coax out to the TVs coax input. For a VCR without a tuner, you'll probably find a RCA composite video line in option on the VCR. Connect your cable box or converter box composite output to the VCR composite in. For an OTA source, you'll need a splitter to send the signal to both the TV and the converter box. Most TVs do not have a video output option. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My Picture is coming and going every few seconds.

Hello
I assumes that the fault is only with the picture, but sound output is normal. The fault you describes here is due to some loose solderings at its video output board. The video output board can be located at the neck of the picture tube itself, directly pluged on to it. It can be detach out from the picture tube, by applying a little backward force. Be sure no to make any sideways movement, as it may damage the pins of the picture tube. Pull it straight back to get it detached.

gopakumarg43_71.jpgJust see the opened view of your wega tv. Here the main board is placed vertically over the CRT base board [video output board]. Behind this board, you can see a small square board with some components on it soldered directly. Pull out that board from CTR base. Just look fit for any loose solder points. Normally it will be difficult to detect these solder loose points, as some of them may be microscopically small to view out. So, just do, what we do to it at service table. Just resolder all the suspected loose solder terminals including the solder terminals of picture tube base socket, soldered diretly to that board; by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. This must solve the problem of you TV. You should have a concept of soldering and a good quality soldering iron and solder wire to do this work.

Tv shuts off, standby light blinks 5 times

Hi,

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.

Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service. 1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. 3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue. 4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem. 6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set. 7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set will need to be serviced. 8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset: Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved. Turn off the television. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

Thanks for using Fixya.
