Check whether the issue occurs with all the external devices like DVD Player, VCR, etc. If the issue is occurring with all the devices then the issue is with the TV.
Try these steps to check whether the issue is resolved.
1.Disconnect the power cable and connect it to a different working wall outlet.
2. Disconnect surge protector if you are using any.
3.Power reset the TV by turning it OFF for atleast one minute.
3. Reset the TV to the Factory defaults.
To reset the TV, turn it ON.
Press the RESET button on the Remote and press the POWER button on the TV at the same time. Now, TV will turn OFF and then back ON automatically.
Now, proceed with the Auto Program.
Check whether the issue is resolved after the Auto Program is finished.

All Sony TVs have a self-diagnose mechanism where the Standby light blinks to indicate that there is an internal malfunction in it.

Note: Your TV does not have the replacable LAMP.

If the issue persists TV requires service. Contact nearest Sony authorized repair center,

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

6 times standby light blinking in KV-34HS420 tv shows problem with +5V line that goes to many parts on AY, BY and MY circuit boards.
I'm not sure about your electronics knowledge and experience so I would say to check AY, BY and MY boards by swapping in similar model tv to find out defective board.

7 times standby light flashing in KV-32HS420 shows that Horizontal Deflection Stopped for some reasons. This info taken from related service manual.
Possible cause are dry/ lose solder connection on main board, H-Out transistor shorted out, flyback transformer defective, H-Drive section failure etc.
All above are technical terms and person having little electronics knowledge will understand easily. If you feel uncomfortable working in tv circuits, please call local tv repairman to help you out.

If standby light is solid On, press Ch +/- button on tv front to turn it On or press Power button on remote.

And if standby light is blinking, count its blinks and post here to diagnose problem. There would be 3 seconds long pause between blinks so count pause to pause.

Unplug tv from wall socket for minute to get its timer function reset, then replug back in and turn it On.

converter box varies, so I wouldn't know precisely the type of converter box you are using. But here is the tip, if your converter box has "RF IN", then it means you can use it for local stations, but if it does not have "RF IN", it means you cannot use it to get local stations.

Therefore, check the back of your converter box for "RF". If you find RF, you can use it to get local stations, if you don't get RF, you cannot use it for local stations.

RF is mainly used for local stations.

that is a capcitor near protection relay or a regulator
for 135 volt call str or the horizontal driver out put for the highvoltage. watcht theres is very high voltage in there.disconnect for a while before opennig the case IF YOU DONT HAVE EXPERIENCE CALL A TECHNICIEN !!!! and for me the price to fix it is about an hour time plus parts

The color image is comprised of three colors, Red, Green, and Blue.
All the other colors are mixtures of those colors. The yellow picture indicates that your set is lacking sufficient blue drive.

First of all check to make sure that the tint control is not misadjusted.
The next thing is dependent upon the age of your television. If it's an older set that yellow tint is a sign of an aging picture tube.
If it's a newer set, less than 5 years old, have it analyzed by a electronics technician that is familiar with televisions if he is skilled enough he will know right away if it's the picture tube or not.

Do you mean that your set operates sometimes and other times it won't? If it's never working and the power light is blinking that would indicate there is a failure in the power supply or the deflection circuitry. Either of which is not an easy fix. If it works normally sometimes and not others it indicates that you have an intermittent problem which is usually caused by failed soldered connections someplace on the main board.

if you are using a cable box .. then disconnect everything that is feeding signals into the tv ... then get a signal from some other source (like off the air antenna or video camera) ... if the tv still has the dark lines then you have a bad primary filter capacitor in its power supply .. if it works ok off the air and only does it when the cable box is hooked up .. then the cable box has an open primary filter capacitor . ... the dark horizontal bars you see is ripple from the rectified AC power that is not properly filtered ... if the TVs verticle scan rate is 60 hz and the full wave rectified AC amounts to 120 hz ripple then you will see two dark bars across the picture ... since the two signals are not syncronized then they will slip in phase with respect to each other .. thus the constantly moving pattern ..

could b a bad lcd panel green one, without bench testing hard to tell sorry i cant b of more help

check your power switch it appears that your contacts in side your switch are fused with arcs, and are not making good contacts.
change that switch with a new one. a switch has four contacts switches in it, use a volt meter to check the 115 or 240 AC through the switch.
before changing that switch you have to check for dry joints on your power suppy section of your tv.

This kind of problem occurs if tv screen got hit by some thing that damage internally and its irreparable, second possible cause is magnetic field nearby screen, please check any speaker or some thing that has magnet inside around tv, remove it from tv to fix purple hue at top of screen.
Unplug tv from AC wall socket for 20-25 minutes, replug back in and turn it On, this will demagnetize screen to cure the problem.

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems the issue is with the power board or the main board and we’ll need to check few things. When you open the unit up; take a look at the power board-the board where the power cords/plugs goes into. You might see some filter capacitors a little bulged up in the top-If this is the case-this is your defective part(you can try to replace them-but some soldering equipment is needed). If not, then probably the main board has gone bad. This is the other board-where all the inputs are going into. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please note that the TV components consists high voltages even when in off position. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Then yur tv has a power problem. You need to check on the pwr prt of the cct for any deffective components

It could be a loose or bad solder connection that opens up when the set warms up a bit. If the power light flashes multiple times when it does this, then I would suspect a defective component as well.

my sony videoscope xbr was in storage for a while. I brought it home and let it warm up before I plugged it in. now the standby light blinks all the time. I have sound but no picture. any idea what to do?
