Sony ke-32ts2u plasma tv

I doubt there is an easy fix but your situation suggest that you have a bad ground on that outlet and a short in the tv tried to go to ground through your cable itself. Plug in an "outlet analyzer" to both outlets. They are under $10US at supply stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. Through a combination of lights, it will report the status of the outlet What you described is a failure in the power supply circuits for your display. You would need a wiring diagram and expertise. internal exchangeable fuses are rare anymore. They are usually a set of diodes which must be desoldered.

HAVE NO PICTURE....HEARD TWO LOUD POPS, SAW SMOKE & SMALL FIRE

Smoke is never a good sign, is this the model indicated above? If handy you may want to open set and see where the damage is---may just narrow things down.OF COURSE IF IT SMOKED DO NOT PLUG IT TO POWER OR TRY TO TURN IT ON AGAIN---nothing to be gained by doing that.

Removing the rear casing from a sony ke-32ts2e

First, look very carefully for any screws you have missed. There is usually at least one in the area of the input connectors, most likely between the RCA jacks. If there is a VGA or DVI connector, examine the screw studs to see if they are holding the plastic. If you are certain you have found all of the screws holding the plastic, then get a piece of oak (scrap molding from a home redecorating project is ideal) and cut out three spudger strips 3 3/4" x 3/8" x 3/16". On one end, taper the the thickness down to 3/16" on two of them, and 1/8" on the third. These can be used to pry apart the case with minimal risk of damage to the plastic. (Metal tools usually leave gouges in the edges, and the deformation may make it harder to disassemble the monitor again.) There are probably some plastic catches holding the rear case to the front. Use the thinnest spudger on the side to start spreading the case. Once you have a gap started, slide the next two in line behind it. Push them toward the corner. Don't be surprised by a popping noise as each latch lets go. Push the thin spudger around the corner, and keep going to the center of the top. Leave one of the thick spudgers in place there so the latches won't re-engage, then go to the other side and repeat.Note: on many models larger than 24", there aren't any latches, but it's may be a tight fit. In this case, just put a spudger strip in the gap on each side one fourth of the way from the top corner, then gently squeeze the back toward the front at the bottom (you are using the strips as fulcrums to lever the top of the back away from the front). This is probably what you have if you do not find any latches on the side and there are more than two screws along the top.

Standby sleep

If the display is automatically going into standby while watching, make sure do disable power saving in the main menu.

If the TV will not come out of standby, the DSP may have crashed. Try un plugging the unit from the wall, waiting 20 seconds, then plugging it back in.

Hope this helps,

Plasma TV, loud bang, dead screen

I have a Sony KE-32TS2 set. We heard a very loud bang, and the screen is dead. We still have audio and the ability to change channels. One electrician friend suggested a blown capacitor in the powersupply. I'm pretty handy with electronic repair. Can I do this myself?

My Sony KE-32TS2 32'' TV keeps turning on and off

I agree, you have a powerboard problem. I've wrote this so you can diagnose this yourself, and perhaps, fix it yourself!
The caps (capacitors) in the powerboard are going out. This is a very common problem in all class and price ranges of modern lcd2_bing.gif and plasma tv's/ monitor's. I don't know if this problem has been like this for awhile or it just started, but either way, if the tv takes an abnormal amount of time to "warm" up then it most likely will go out all the way sometime in the (near) future. If you have a tiny bit of will and knowledge ypou can open the unit and get to the print board. Examine this for "popped" capacitors, they will have a buldging top instead of a flat one. Im gonna try to include a pic of them here, if i can get it this time, I've tried bfore lol. But you can google image a "popped" or "bad" capacitor and you would be able, with ease, to diagnose if you have any of these. Usually only one or two. Radioshack sells capacitors (couple anyway) for $1.59 each. MAKE SURE the replacement is of the SAME voltage or HIGHER, or you will be right back replacing those 2. Every capacitor has a negative pole marked with an (-) on the side of the capacitor(by one of the "legs", always puit the negative (-) "leg" of the new capacitor in the same hole in the printboard as where the previous negative (-) "leg" of the capacitor was ( a capacitor with the negative and positive "legs" put in backwards will result in the new piece "popping" as sson as you turn it on!!) make sure the "uf" rating (for example the most common popped capacitor is the 1000 uf) is the same as the one you are replacing. I needed 1000 uf, 105 c and 26v (volt) ratings for the 1 capacitor I needed to replace to fix my LG 19" lcd panel2_bing.gif monitor I found by the trash that the light came on off, but it didn't come on. I replaced that capacitor with ; 1000uf, 85 c and 36 v (volts0...It works fine eventhough the volts and the temperature rating (36v and 85c) was not the same as the (26v(volt) and 105c ) capacitor I removed !! Further, I've replaced capacitors that had the celcius rating of 105 with the only ones Radioshack had, namely 85 c(celsius) they have been working great, but I'm not sure about any effect, nor have I heard or read (yet?) about that making an urgent difference. Many threads that I've read people have done the same, so we should be ok (my stuff has been running good for a while longer then most brand new ones!.............(all these ratings ; 'uf ' and 'c' etc are on the side of the capacitor you are replacing and on the side of the ones you are replacing them with)...For all this all you need is the cheapest solder gun u can find (I bought one for $7.99 at Radioshack), a camera (to take pictures as you go to remember how to reassemble the unit) and, once you have your materials, 20 minutes to replace 2 or 3 capacitors and you are good to go...Most monitors and tvs (lcd/plasma) I've seen you have to lay flat on the ground/bed/blanket etc, to work on (screen side down). Usually there are 2 or 3 screws (or a few more) to remove, then you will have to carefully (its comes off easily most times)insert a flat screwdriver inbetween the casing and gently pry it up as you go around the whole frame. Sometimes you have to remove the little washer arouind the cable input orso, just be gentle and you cant go wrong. Once insidet here will be a box with wires running to the sides etc...unplug, gently, these wires and open the box. Inside you will find 2 or 3 circuitboards, check them all for "popped" capacitors, replace, reassemble and plug it in....Have fun becoming an overnight tv mechanic lol!

Vertical line black or out

Hello, The line appearing on your screen is probably the result of a connection problem on one of the address buffers located on the top and bottom section of the panel. These buffers feed the data signal to the panel to "address" which pixels should light and for how long. The other cause would be a bad display panel in which case the entire panel would have to be replaced, this is normally NOT the case. I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
