My picture works for 1 minute, completely cuts
Hi
I would be very careful about blindly ordering parts. This is where a reputable service person could help you. My first impression is that parts have begun to age in the set thus causing the on/off condition. I would take the set or call a reputable repair person. Good luck
No power or sound
the blinking light signifies to a repair technician with capacitors or
circuits are having an issue they can diagnose the problem via the
amount of blinks in between pauses however it will require a technician
and some specific tools and schematics to fix and it may be cheaper if
its no longer under warranty to purchase a new one
Hope this helped

I have a Sony E55A20 tv. It made a pop noise and
Yes. If you hear a pop, the lamp probably exploded. You should pull it out and have a look. You user manual has some clear directions on the exact method of doing this. Don't be afraid of the instructions provided... the manufacture must "scare" you to cover their own ****. It's fairly easy, but you may need an allen key for this model. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
The hdmi module om my sony kdf e55a20 is not
HDMI is not a module. It is part of the small signal circuit board on most of these TVs. If it has an separate HDMI connector board (inside the cover), this is the most likely cause of the fault as a broken connector is 70% of all HDMI failures.
There is still over a thousand volts inside one of these flat panel sets. Be very careful not to void your OWN warranty...
You can order the part from Sony, BUT, you should know what you are doing. Just picking up the circuit board wrong can blow the board out before you even get to use it...
I lose my picture it
You need a lamp. This is a common symptom. I hope this helps. I have a tutorial on the function and failure of lamps, check it out if you like. It explains why your TV is doing this. I hope this was helpful.

Just replaced the lamp, but I still have a blue
You need an optical block. PN: A-1132-202-A. Part is very expensive with a $1500 core charge. Consider replacing the TV. Sorry, this is will eventually happen to all Rear Projection LCD televisions. The UV light emitted from the projection lamp destroys the Blue LCD panel first (shorter wave length), then the Green then the Red. The panels are not servicable, the entire unit must be changed. I hope this helps... it will save you a $100+ service call fee anyway.

Hi there
It is definatley a bulb issue. These are the symptoms of a dying bulb. You made the right call to order a new one!
My sony kdf e55a20 cuts on and off
Order a new bulb, easy to replace, just read the manual. In the meantime, go into Settings and change the Power to Power Saving, instead of Standard. Your bulb will work fine until the new one arrives.

Hi,
You need Hex Key to remove hex screw on left side of lamp then take out lamp.
Sony original lamp is supplied with hex key, please check lamp box.
If you do not have hex key, try small size flat screw driver to remove hex screw as flat screw driver could fit into hex screw.
Following exploded view shows how to remove that screw with hex key.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.
