Vince. Your model is a RA-1 chassis you will need to replace both convergence ICs number STK392-010 they are located on the D board mounted to large haeat sinks. You can get replacement ICs at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link.

You probably need new lamps. They are a bit expensive, but it is easy to change them yourself.

Check your manuaal for programming because that is what it is and that will solve your problem

Hi,that is come from your convergence module,theres some ic in there call stk wheres they controls the picture linearity but
you will need a technician to fix it...

the first thing you can deduce is the main fuse is good. secound the power on relay clicks whick means the set is trying to come on. the standby light flashes... how many times what is its pattern this could be an error code that could point in the direction of the problem

hello there should be a glass fuse in the power supply also beware in a lot of sony sets there are soldered in fuses aswell. and circuit protectors i hope it helps

This unit has CRTs and does not have a lamp. Most likely you have a problem in the high voltage section. This can be checked with my tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4916941-diagnose_repair_projection_tv_high which explains the problem although it was written with a dead set in mind. It also tells you where to get the best price on parts. There is an outside chance that you could have a video drive issue. This problem would be on the other board (not the board with the high voltage). There really isn't a way for you to troubleshoot this board. If you do not find any problems in the high voltage circuit I would replace the small signal board. Available from http://www.encompass.com.

This TV has had a long life. Your picture is looking more yellow these days because the Blue picture tube is wearing out. Not saying the Green and Red tub are much better, but Blue tube is a major player in the picture brightness and white balance (the color of white which the TV reproduces). The cost involved wouldn't be justified. You should enjoy the balance of the TVs life; when it's time comes... have the new TV delivered and ask them recycle this one. Best wishes.

Electrolitic capacitors are the demise of most electronics over the long term. Most last 10 years reliabley. Your tv has approximately 150 of them and is fourteen years old. I would use an esr meter to check for bad ones in the main power supply. If you need a power supply board your estimate for a in home service call is about 450$ plus tax for P&L. by the major players.

The TV weighs too much for the Lazy Susan. Those peices are made of Medium Densoti Fiberboard (MDF), and useless for a heavy load. Fix it yourself for under 20 bucks if you have tools. Look at it for few minutes. It will come to you. You need to install a piece of 3/4"plywood( any grade) under the lazy susan top, and then install the good top over it.
