Lamp part number

KP-43T70 is a CRT based rear projector and does not use a Lamp like newer LCD/DLP projectors. It uses 3 (Red, Green, Blue) glycol liquid cooled CRT's (like the picture tubes of yesteryear) to produce the image/light as opposed to a Lamp.

You are most likely going to need a special antenna. Like a DTV converter. To just hook up a antenna and pick up local channels you will need a newer LCD or LED flat-screen.

I have a sony rear projection Tv 43 inch about 13

It has been quite sometime, that I have repaired this TV. In one case the audio IC with standby is bad. The symptom you describe, is my first area of trouble shooting. You may resist the temptation to replace this TV. I understand. It would be better to replace this TV. Sony is a unique TV, and parts for this may be substituted with non originals. Even if this set is repaired, it will be a matter of short time that it will go down. I would certainly shop for a new Sony flat screen TV. Your chances of having a long running TV is in your best interest. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

I have the three color

Projection sets have two very common problems listed below. bb0cf99.pngYou can see some more examples and find a fix using this link on Fixya http://www.fixya.com/support/r2861467-solution_video_looking_whiteish_dull

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

MY SONY TV HAVE DOBLE PICTURE

projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Sony KP-43T75 green ghosting on

Oi? You mean thermal grease? No thats not the source of the problem in fact I think your problem is not related to the ICs itself. I suspect that you have bad capacitors in the convergence or deflection circuits that have to be replaced? If you are handy at working on electronics I suggest you take a look near the heatsinks(where the ICs are) for capacitors that are bulged or cracked at the tops. If you find any then they will have be replaced with those of exactly the same specs. That should do the trick.

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs.

Green missing sony kp43t70 green lamp is on

Press the menu button, if the menu has green missing as well it's the tv. If you can't tell with the menu, use a second source, being a dvd or a gaming system. If the green is still missing make sure you use different cables, it will be the tv. if only one source is the issue it will be the source that is missing the green color.

If you are sure the tuner--which is what this part number is bad, there are several places where you can get it rebuilt cheap--First is Pts Electronics, If you Google sony and the part number you will also find.
