Sony KP-65WV700 65" Rear Projection HDTV - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Red screen flashes 10 times
Since the set does come on try to see if it has a error buffer.Set off and using the Sony remote: Display, 5, volume down, Power. If it has that and comes on you should see a box in middle of the screen with several items listed-----each should have a zero to the right of it----any with a number indicates an error found and the number indicates the number of times it has happened.Let me know what you find if anything--I can offer further help but first want to know if a error has been recorded.
Green and blue faded
Some of these had bad picture tubes--(model indicated here uses 3 tubes)Simple test is go to a black and white channel and turn color to zero= is the screen black and white or some other color? Also go to a unused video input and look at screen=all you should see is black screen with the input number in green= any other color and something may just need to be adjusted.

Convergence is bad on left
Hi,
Re-solder convergence output ICs pins and nearby big resistors that might solve your tv picture problem and if that does not help then replace both convergence output ICs to fix the problem.
Convergence output ICs would be available in local repair parts shop or google it.
Thanks.

I HAVE A KP-65WV700 SONY
I had a similar problem. I had a 52"
RCArear projection tv. It
would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few
"on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it
started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv
was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because
of green light on the panel). The
power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you
some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.
You may very well
have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the
V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try
that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the
electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually
verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors
Picture is greenish / purplish
Very common problem throught out ur DLP tv live, will happen again again many times for the tv life times.Ur tv have a problems known as convergence problems,it dead.Tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignments, have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike? The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too. These parts must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
My TV on black screen
If what you see is a green line or lines on a black screen, it is the Green CRT failing. There is no real good fix for this. Sony does not support these set very much. It would require sending the Green CRT and Coupler assembly to Sony so they can mount a new CRT on the Coupler. The cost of doing this and still having 2 other CRT's that can fail in the same way makes it really a no fix.
You would be money ahead to replace it with a LCD or LED product.
I hope this helps,

I get green curve lines and some flashing green
Most likely it is the green CRT that is failing. Unfortunately Sony does not support these models much anymore. What they require is to send the CRT with the Optic Coupler to them so they can mount a new green CRT to the Coupler then send it back to you. For the cost and time it takes to do this I recommend you replace the set with a LCD, LED, flat screen set.
I hope this helps,

How do I replace the
Hello, It has been my experience that once you replace any one tube of a CRT projection tube TV, the CRT that has been replaced will have more emission and it will reflect in the picture quality, I mean that there will be more definition, brightness, contrast in the blue images in the overall picture than the red and green, it will also show up as excessive in the overall gray scale adjust.
I have blue lines across the tv
You either have bad Blue Tube or you need to adjust the Blue Screen control down that controls the drive to Picture Tube
You will have to remove the Front bottom panel and behind it is the Focus/Screen control Block it will have 3 controls on top for Focus to each Tube and 3 controls under them for Screen drive to R/G/B Tubes
Blue screen for about a half hour and then still

KP-65WV600 Red and Green Lamps
Hi, if the tubes fade from full brilliance to black over a few seconds, the possible sounds like dry joints in the CRT heater circuits. possibly caused by dry joints (bad solder joints). Most repairs involving rear projection TV's can be a pig (mainly relating to access to work on the circuit boards)
Hello my sony kp-65wv700 tv
You have a faulty part either in the power source or the high tension module. To identify the faulty part the tv must be opened and tested - this is a job for someone qualified in that, so call a repairman, there's nothing more you can do.
