Hello my sony kp-65wv700 tv

You have a faulty part either in the power source or the high tension module. To identify the faulty part the tv must be opened and tested - this is a job for someone qualified in that, so call a repairman, there's nothing more you can do.

Bright blue hourglass on the screen

I wouldn't be so quick to replace something. My guess is that the lenses are dirty. Get to the lenses and clean them with alcohol and q-tips. Good Luck.

TV won't flash focus. when

The convergence board needs to be repaired. Some people change the IC's on them to get the old one working again. Now this is not something a end user just can do it does need a experienced tech that knows his electronics.

$250 upwards would be the repair bill for a convergence board problem.

The tv works but the picture is distorted all

This is a convergence problem. you can try to re converge it with flash focus button on TV or in the menu if there is an option for convergence or focus. If you get into this menu and the lines will not move in all directions to line them all up you will have to replace I/C chips on convergence board inside TV. Do you know how to solder? if not this type of repair will typically cost $300 to $450 for a repair man. Let me know if this helps. Please reply to this solution if you have further questions or need assistance replacing I/C chips. I can help walk you through process if you feel comfortable with soldering and circuit boards. If you feel you can repair yourself with guidance from fixya should cost less than $50 to fix.

On a white picture my screen has a yellow color to

Hello: Seems like you have a picture tube problem. The yellow color is from a weak green crt. I suggest replacing the Red and Green Crt's in this model. They are nortoriuos for Failure especially the Red. The cost for these tube vary from 110.00ea to 150.00each. I don't know if you want to spend that type of money on this set, as i Know this peticular set has an expectional picture quailty, my experience with replacing sony picture tubes, is to replace all three tubes, as the new ones will show brighter. So replacing the red and green crt's and not the blue is not recommened. But thats up to you, you might not notice the color difference yourself. You also have the option of sending the Crt's for refurbished ones or having the originals rebuilt by a company in Calif, called VDC, Video display Corp. They sell and refurbish sony CRTs. This route is much cheaper, the only problem is having the crt's taken out and sent for repair. The other option is to think about purchasing a new set. As this repair price could reach into hundreds of dollars, Around $600 to $700 for parts and Labor..

I get a red screen

In most cases on these models the red crt is shorted and causes the set to go into a shutdown mode and flash the timer light 7 times. The part number for the red crt is 8-733-664-25 but is no longer available.

My tv 65rpwv600 just starts showing a blue colors

you either have a screen control drifting or a bad blue crt
you can access the screen controls behind the speaker grill and the black cover behind it the blue will be on one end or the other
there are 6 controls three are focus three are screen
turn the blue down slightly and see if it clears up before it shuts down the deflection if it continues to drift you might want to order a screen controls block and change it out

Vertical convergence on left side of screen

Your symptom sounds like a damaged convergence IC.

You bet, with a small wattage soldering iron ~45 watts and rosin core solder, solder wick, and some heat sink compound. You can fix it yourself and save. Be sure to scrape off all of the old compound, this will cause the IC's to last longer, and transfer heat better.

There are two and large IC’s that control the convergence in a big screen set. Some of the newer sets only have one. They are secured to a very large aluminum heat sink. They will have a part number stamped on them that will start with an STKXXX-XXX, like STK392-110, and they are located on the signal board (on the left as you look into the back of the set).

Along with the convergence IC’s there will also be some associated components that will need to be replaced as well. There are some resistors that are part of the convergence circuit that will be open and need to be replaced. Most likely these will appear charred in the center. If you have an Ohm Meter or a DVM, check all the resistors that are close to the IC’s and you should be looking for either ones that have opened or have changed values.

If one of the convergence IC’s are found to be bad, I would replace them both, if one has gone bad the other may go soon. I usually order my parts from Andrews Electronics in California, they will have the OEM components that you will need.
Their site is http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx
And their phone number is a 24-Hour Order Desk: (800) 274-4666
I recommend the phone order so you can talk to the person about the different types of IC’s that are available.

I would also advise that the convergence IC’s be OEM or better, just because they are cheap does not mean that they are a good deal. I have seen the cheap IC’s fail after a short time, even though they look exactly like the OEM IC’s. I think that the bottom line is that you will get what you pay for when it comes to the parts.

You can also try http://www.tvrepairkits.com/ , I have not tried them yet, but they do carry OEM or better parts.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.
