Yellow Patch on screen
yhumble,
Sounds like you have a bad optical engine. Most of the KDFs suffer this problem. For a while Sony would not admit to the problem, then they extended the warranties to cover it and now I know people who have gotten great deals on new units from Sony if you call their number and complain. I have a tip at
http://www.fixya.com/support/r7851924-sony_projector_yellow_or_blue_dots which gives more information as well as some solutions.
Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

My T.V. will not turn
First thing to check is for a bad lamp! You can check this by taking small front panel off the tv.
This is the width of the tv right below the screen. But keep in mind you have to remove the screws on each side of side panel... Good luck and let me know if you need a lamp. I may have it in stock as well. HDTV GURU JAY.. email me back at

I have a Sony Wega
5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks, etc. means "Lamp driver error" and the probable cause listed is "Lamp driver defect".This is the starting point for a qualified service technician.Even so, the actual problem may be the lamp. Did you install a genuine Sony lamp assembly?
These sets are bad for the lamp driver and optical block, which Sony has extended a warranty on these sets due to the mass problems that they have had with them. If you haven't contacted them yet please do so and talk to them about a warranty on your set.
Sony tells me that while they extended the warranty through 3/2011, so please hurry on this.
The parts you need run between $225.00 and $315.00 depending on what boards you need. IF Sony won't honor the warranty or at least work with you, you may consider a new set, these will only get more costly to keep repairing. I Believe in Sony, its not all their fault, there were a lot of bad electrical supplies sold to the electronics industry a few years ago and they simply don't last.
Turns off and red light flashes 3 times
Have you messed with the lamp door at all? 3 lights on this tv should mean the lamp lid is not fully closed. I would try and re-close it tightly. If you need further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
Lee
I just put a new

Blue color is now Green
Are you using a cable box / dish network etc reciever? Does it have 3 component video cables (red, green and blue cables). Often times color problems like that are a result of your cables coming loose out of the set or cable box. Make sure that they are snug and secure and in the correct spots on both the reciever and the television. Don't just assume they are, make sure to check all of the cables. I am a television repairman and even though I tell everyone this, at least once a week I have a call where this is the problem.
I have a sony grand
The Sony blue star field problem is caused by a defect in the optical engine. It's not worth the cost of a new Opt. engine usually since the repair can exceed $1200. Sony had an extended warranty program in place until June 2010 but no more. It may still be worth your time to call Sony Consumer Relations dept. and try to get a concession of some kind. The number should be in your owner's manual or online. Thx

I have a sony wega kdf-e50a10 I replaced the lamp
Without having a technician there to diagnose this problem is going to take some troubleshooting. First, I would take the lamp back out of the TV and then reinstall it and try turning the TV on again. If that does not work there could be numerous things wrong with the TV. The heat sensor in the TV could be bad or the actual light engine, which is essentially the heart of the TV, could be bad. If it is the light engine then it is cheaper to buy a new TV.
My screen is cracked on
You may find a screen at a TV repair shop. I would suggest you ask for a salvaged one. If you could purchase a new one, the cost is quite high. The other thing to remember is that the rear projection TV is vanishing quickly. I would check garage sales, pawn shops or even check ads in the paper. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!
Have blue hue left side of sonykdf42wec55?
If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as
