Tv keeps shuyyong off and restarting
There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.
If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.
If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).
Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.
I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.
My TV picture has become
Lamp is weak in result but not dead yet that will turn on lamp light. Lamp is going to die so replacement will solve the problem.
lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual of tv.

If this is a Sony Grand Wega, call Sony, complain, and Sony will give you an option to get a brand new for a very small amount of money instead of fixing the one you have due a class action, if you qualify.
My 60" rear projection TV
Contact Sony.com and go to Electronics then TVs then Support then write model, select Chat with tech support, complain about your issue and you must receive an offer to get a brand NEW tv for a minimal amount of money to compensate you for the bad quality on your Wega, as result of a class action. I just got it.
6 blinking red lights
You still have your guessed problem. 6 blinks means Low B+ error (power supply). This can be caused by an open thermal fuse, loading by another circuit board, or the power supply itself.
Picture keeps going off and on.
This problem is usually due to a lamp thats at the end of its life. I am sure replacing the lamp will resolve this problem. I can find you a replacement lamp for your tv if you wish

TV picture and sound will
Hi,
If tv does not shut down in all that process with blinking red light and just keep cycling picture/ sound goes out, green light blink then again picture/sound comes then it is symptoms of weak lamp in tv that has been reached to end of its working hours life and need to be replaced.
Lamp is not broken or dead yet that is why tv wont show Lamp Light on front.
in my opinion, every thing in your tv is fine but lamp that needs to be replaced. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual. Please buy Sony original lamp for good picture.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.
I have a 60 inch sony sxrd br2 it will come on for
The 4 blinks do not actually mean that your lamp is defective, but rather that something is wrong with the TV's A-board. Specifically, 4 blinks means no vertical deflection (V STOP), which screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. My recommendation to fixing this problem would be to call Sony and ask for repairs, and you can contact them at:

If you want to get a hold of a customer Rep quickly, you can try pressing the 0 key on your phone about 3 times.
My t.v. screen has dimmed over time, when we first

KDF-E60A20 Going on and off by itself..no blinking lights
it works!! First i took off the front panel. Just check your manual
for instructions, very easy to do. If you do not have a manual just
down load one from google.. The instruction are easy to follow. The
screw they have you loosen with a alan wrench is attached to the
plastic, so you do not have to worry about dropping it inside the tv.
Removing the lamp was simple. once out you will notice on either side
are two small mesh screens. One of mine was 80% blocked with dust, the
other side was only 30-40% covered. I used a vacuum to remove the
blockage, i did not want the dust and dirt to go inside the bulb. i
then cleaned all around the lamp. Reinstalled, and we are go to go.
The kids are happy and i am happier since my wife not be buying a new
TV.
total cost of repair $.00
time required to fix, less than 15 minutes.
Also when my TV was loosing sound and picture and then return. I did
turn off my TV, then turned on. I nothiced a red blinking light. Mine
flashed 5 times. After some reserch, 5 times is video related, bulb or
video board. google red flashing light with the model you have and you
will find what all the codes mean.
So if yours is flashing 5 times try the above, it might work for you and it is well worth the time before you call a tech and drops hundreds of dollars.
hope this helps.
I have a Sony KDF-60XS955
You need to take a picture of it and definitely save it. Contact a service company to have it verified that the light engine is bad with a statement of such. Then contact Sony. They are in a major law suit with consumers with bad light engines. Known failures.
