This usually happens on home burnt DVD's

It is the format in which it was recorded that is at fault.
There is little you could do but re-encode the whole thing before you burn it.

Turn off or try the different surround options whilst it is playing.

If it does this with commecial DVD's then you may have set the surround setting by accident to somthing else.

Have you tried to unplug the unit for 1 or 2 minutes to see if it can reset the computer chip inside of the DVD player?
I have had great sucess with this trick.

My player was working fine till today. When any DVD is inserted it say "PROTECTED" and won't proceed further ! what could be the problem?

set dvd player to ntsc also your TV. it will have color now.

Does the ringing happen when listening to the radio, CD, or both?
