You have to have the remote to change inputs on this set. Probably a universal remote will work good.

I had the same problem with a Sylvania SRT2227S. I kept trying to fix it using the remote but after reading your posting I pressed the Volume (down) button, which cycled through the same menus you mentioned. Then I pressed the Power button on the TV and that fixed it.

The problem started for me when pressed PIP, CC, and Guide buttons on a Philips universal remote control. My TV does not support these functions and it seems to put it in this "service mode". Now I can fix it by pressing Volume (down) or Menu then the Power button on the TV (do not use the remote as it is useless when the TV is in this mode). I hope this works for you too.

Had the same problem. You have to get a universal remote that matches the tv. Bought it today at Kmart (Walmart has it too). Only set me back $10-11 bucks and most def. worked. Set it to the tv and hit the Input button, GAME mode came right on. Here is what I posted in another forum on here.

I had the same problem until today. I bought the same tv and went to Kmart/Walmart. I bought the RCA Universal remote (RCR412SI). Only set me back $10-11 bucks. Has like 3-4 ways to set the tv, dvd, sat-cable and vcr/aux. Even allows several tvs I believe. Couldn't set it at first, then there was the other method where the remote did the search. Worked! the directions and be patient. Will save you money.

you'll have to take the tv apart un solder he connection go to radio schak and see if they have the part . resolder put tv back togrether done

Depends on what shop finds. Personally Id get $50 for fixing something like this, but not all shops are so honest, if you know what I mean. Some shops will give an estimate before actually making the repair.

Intermittent problems are the toughest to track down, but usually have one of two root causes. Cold solder joints are an intermittent contact between where a component (transistor, etc) is mounted to the circuit board and the electrical contacts of the board itself. The other cause is components which break down under heat. Either way, if your not much on troubleshooting, have a TV shop service it, it can be easily repaired.

This is a fairly easy fix, but I recommend taking to a qualified service tech. Even with the TV off and unplugged you can still get seriously hurt.

when you say nothing do you mean the tv wont come on? If the tv is on can you see the words (input, volume bar, menus, etc.) do you hear audio? does the player work on another tv, since you have a sylvania tv, are you using the game button on the top of the remote to switch to the jacks on the front? Not unless you know how to work on a headphone jack and how the jack and the jack switchs work??? Also if you dont know about the HI Voltage saftey issues, it would be best for you to bring this set to a pro tech, as it shouldnt cost to much for a new headphone jack??. Good Luck

More likely you hit the Source / Input button and lost the signal. Press it again until it comes back.
