Sylvania 6842PE 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television - Page 4 Questions & Answers
The color is "green"
Have you tried to go into your menu on your TV ? Look for color or gamma setting and try to lower the green level.
Sylvania 42" flat screen won't turn on
First you should check the fuse and the wiring in your tv by removing the back cover. Make sure no wires are bare or touching. If there are any, wrap them with electrical tape.
If you cannot see anything wrong by looking, then it is probably the set has a bad transformer (high voltage)
SYLVANIA PLASMA WENT DARK!!
Hi,
If this is a rear projection Plasma then They have lifespan for the Bulbs. Sounds like the Bulbs have gone, you can buy these bulbs but you will need someone to Fit. I believe there are usually 3 bulbs that fit the rear projection plasma TV's.
I hope this helps,
Thanks.
Tv not getting power.
My TV is a Emerson LC30EM82s, 32" 720P LCD. The Fundai corp. makes both of our TVs. So, I'm taking a big guess that the only difference with our TVs is just the " name". Just like Chev and GMC, same people. If the TV is under the 3 month warranty, use it. If not, you'll need a long phillips screw driver to unscrew the many screws holding the big plastic cover on the back. The Fuse (small glass tube with metal caps on the ends) is on the Power Inverter Board (where the power cord is attached to). Radio Shack should have replacements. If that doesn't solve the problem, you may have to replace the Power Inverter Board.
Sylvania 6842PE
This is a power source problem and it will need to be fixed by a pro! This is a very common problem with the Sylvania sets! (cost to fix 250.00-350.00)

After i turn on tv- it turns off right away by itself
That board has the Sylvania part number 1EDM10583 and the price is about right. It might also need some adjustments after installation. Sylvania has no circuit diagram for that board. The TV was assembled by Panasonic and also was used in a Magnavox model. Panasonic may have had the power board designed and made for them by someone else. A technician would have to have some very good luck to repair a board like that without a schematic. Sometimes board rebuilders like PTS have the capability of repairing a board like that. You just have to ask them.
Power Supply
No. They are entirely different. Panasonic was the supplier of the 6842PE and Funai was the supplier of the 6842PEM.

The service manual troubleshooting procedure says to replace the control circuit board and if that doesnt fix it to replace the display panel.
Blown Capacitor and diode
I had the same problem. My nephew gave me this set after it quit working at the Gym where his wife was working. They were going to junk it but I asked if I could try and fix it.
The capacitor C2250 was definately blown and easy to spot so I did some searching and found a replacement from an online electronics supplier that didn't require me to buy 200+ as Digitech wanted. Anyway I replaced the Cap and it still didn't work so I started looking and testing components again and found that the Diode D2250 was bad so replaced it as well and now the set works fine. Maybe this is what is wrong with your's and others as well.
It made sense for me to check the diode as it is right next to the cap that blew.
https://www.mouser.com for the Cap and
http://www.slelectronics.net/ for the Diode.
The specs for the Cap/ CERAMIC CAP. B K 1500pF/1KV
The specs for the Diode/ SCHOTTKY BARRIER DIODE YG123S15
Hope this helps
Blown Capacitor
There should be a circuit designation for this part marked on the PC board, for example C631. Start by posting that designation. Having that will allow anyone with access to the service information to post the value of the part.

Connecting playstation
good day,
i am eltoyosi and am here to help you.
the first question i will ask you is this.....does your TV set have an av-output?
if it does then make sure you plug the AV cords from the game in the following manner...........
the yellow cord is for picture display and make sure it goes into the yellow cord on your TV set.
the red and white cords are both for sounds of the left and right speakers on your TV set. try this connection and you are set to have fun with your game,
thanks.
