THE COMBO WHEN YOU HIT PLAY SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC AND DISPLAY PICTURE AND SOUND ON THE SCREEN---THIS IS LISTED AS A TV-VCR COMBO SO IF dvd hooked to one of the rear inputs (some are also on front on some models) in the menu you select that input and should see the picture and hear the sound from the DVD.

- no color when video play: clean heads with cleaning tape, if this not helps propably heads worn out.

If your tv is totally dead check the the fuse for blown and power supply cable for malfunction. If nothing problem with them, you've got problem with power supply circuit and suggested to repair it at local tv shop.

Is the cable watched via a cable receiver? If so, you might have a connection issue between the Cable box and the TV

I have a guide on remote testing published in my tips & tricks. Use the method to test the power button of the TV remote. If it doesn't doesn't work, you just need to get a new remote. I hope this was of some assistance.

From the looks of it that may be an old TV. It could be that the infrared receiver in it has worn out. You can get a new one at radio shack for like $2. They look like shiny black little boxes with three long metal legs. Replacing it requires open the TV up, desoldering the old one, and soldering a new one in its place.

You will have to get the original remote. Go to remotes.com, we order from them all the time. Take the replacement because the original is NLA.

did you see the stadby light? or if you have not stanby light you have defective power supply!
