Fuji FinePix S5100 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Fuji s5100 batter door cover prongs are broken off.
I have the simple and cheap fix to a frustrating problem!
Just take a tripod base and screw it into the bottom of the
camera. The square tripod base is large enough to hold the battery
cover on the camera closed without any interference.
So there you go! No tape, rubber bands or other crazy contraptions!
Cheap, Quick and simple.

I need software from fujifilm S2960
You don't really need any software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.
FinePix S5100 firmware
Fujifilm currently does not have a firmware update for the S5100. You may see the available downloads
here.
I used a 2 gig
Do you get an error message when you try to copy the pics from the other folder, or you cannot find them at all? Also what is the operating system that you are currently using?
When I try to put the memory card in the camera in
Hi,
Are you installing a card in this camera for the first time?
We need to ensure that the card is the appropriate type for your camera.
the Fuji FinePix S5100 Digital Camera uses a xD Picture Card card.
Please check and ensure that it is the same.
In case you are using the right card, just flip it over and try to insert it from the other way.
The contacts on the card need to go in first.
If this doesn't work for you, please comment and let me know, and I will be more than happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.
I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.
How can I switch on Finepix S5100
I got this
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel
after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
Hope
the advise is useful.
Regards
Andrea
