(Scanning for channels from the on-screen menu was available without a remote.) Then I used the set top box's remote to access that menu. Then I got to Settings > Hardware Settings > Video. Then I could change the output video resolution for HDMI back to 1080i. This is harder with some of the streaming devices with only an HDMI connection. I hope this helps.
