Hi,
if VHS tape is in you have only one solution..to disassemble DVD/VCR ..Can you do it ? you may try !!t
Here's how to do it.. * 1 Turn off the COMBO. and unplug it. * 2 Remove the
4x screws off COMBO on the sides and take off the DVD/VCR casing. * 3 Look for the Tape which messed up with VCR transport mechanism ,try to release tape of the transport with your hand..
* 4 Since EJECT feature works with power only ,while you keep the
tape off from transport plug the device to power and turn it on..Don't
worry, you will see the eject mechanism starts moving back on forth, keep
the tape off it and let it eject..
* 5.When tape is out .If it
destroyed badly normally you should not use it however if the recording
in is valuable for you you can cut the chewed portion and splice it back together .(Pls see the video included...How to fix a broken VHS tape.) * 6 While it is open, place another Tape to see if mechanism works properly. and eject it... * 7 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Now player is finally working .. Hope this helps!.. Hi, Would you pls check the connection again that you have made between TV and DVD player..? 2xRCA (white+Red) will go to 'Audio IN 'sockets of TV in addition to '1xRCA Yellow video cable' goes to "Video IN socket 'of TV..since you have video ,probably Audio cable connected REVERSE.. if
the connections are right than you must select the right source on TV
,as AV1 ,AV2 which corresponds to the cable input sockets of your TV. Take care and please Remember to rate/vote for us to continue for Helping out the Community :)
The product you need is called the Pinaccle Dazzle - it is basically a red/white/yellow composite to USB connector - it also comes with software for capturing your videos in DVD format on your computer (or you can record directly to a DVD disc inserted in yuor computer). I purchased mine at Best Buy, but it is available in a lot of places. It works great, and I have been busily converting those old VHS's to my PC, and then from PC to DVD.
I havent seen this model But in the past I have heard this problem arise. It turned out that there was a mute button for the cd only on the remote and there was no indicator to show it. check for a cd mute or go into the cd play menu and check around in there.
Remove the cover on the back of the tv. Look for swollen or leaking capacitors. They kinda look like batteries. If they are bulging or leaking then that is your problem. You will have to de-solder the old ones off. Then solder the new capacitors onto the circuit board. Capacitors will cost about 20 dollars and installing them isn't that hard to do. It will fix your tv 99% of the time. So it is worth a try!
I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings. This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.
