Philips Magnavox 27MS343S 27" TV - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Where can I get replacement picture tubes for my Signature 2000 television set?
I would not think that they would exist now, Tubed televisions and monitors are very old technology and when I was working in the mid 90's there was almost none spare around.
What existed was put straight into the production line.
I have another concern that some of the last tubed monitors came with what I call an extra focus to compete with flat screens sharpness. This resulted in a flyback transformer that had three presets on it, those I came across had blown up their respective tubes because of over voltage applied.
It would be worth checking if yours has this development and if so then I would give up because parts will not be around.
If you have a blurry/soft picture due to low emission then a heater booster transformer to give it an extra 10 or 20% but they may not even exist now, if it is going bright or dark then that may be a sign of G2 voltage problems which is that transformer issue and destined to "pop"
You may be lucky but I would not bother, sadly a sign of the times as they say.........
Child lock on no remote
Locate the manual for your television. Though slightly embarrassing, accidentally turning on the child lock to a TV is a common problem. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it.
Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A common code is "0000."Unplug your television for a few minutes. The internal battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. If the TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code
My magnavox tv will not power on light turns yellow
I have many thoughts to this problem, having seen many sets before in the past, one issue could be software related which all sets now have, with value range sets this tends to be a more basic code and can be easily bothered by other remote controls for other equipment and lock up, so powering off and trying again is a good starting point.
Remote controls can suffer with poor battery connections or batteries which in turn cause a remote to miss-fire a command, in another answer on fixya I pointed out that its rubbery buttons or contact mat under plastic buttons can sweat leaving a residue which causes miss-fire (the amount over the years I have cleaned).
Its a matter of prying apart (and or screws) if you are lucky clean contacts with meths spirit and soft rag (few are glued together but most are clipped).
In a modern set they have many little power supply circuits for each system (oldies had one big lump) these have to fire up within a certain time or a "fault" is deemed by the system so goes to standby or shuts off, if the set repeats this problem in a short time period it may have a fault which only an engineer could solve.
Hope this helps
Ssb board
What model is this? Because it says Magnavox 27ms343s which is a 27' tv. The 55' has a different board. Small Signal Board is SSB, you also have a LSB. Your best bet is to call 1-800-844-7871 which is PTS and give them the model # and order the board. It will be the cheapest you can find. If that person is right then you can get the board here. And even if you have question you can ask to speak to a tech and give them the problem. Hope this helps

the refresh rate of your computers graphics card is set either too high, or too low. right click on the desktop, select properties, go to the settings tab, and click advanced. then go to the Monito tab, and play around with the different refresh rates, until the picture will show up. This is usually, around 60 Hz or less.
