you have to re-install windows, the new motherboard has a different chipset than the old one. Also , why buy PC CHIPS? its the worst brand you can buy, it will probably die soon anyways

Try this audio driver. Uninstall any installed audio drivers, then reboot and install the new one

This generally means the application that controls volume in Windows, sndvol32.exe, is corrupt rather than uninstalled. There isn't a clear reason why this happens, although there have been cases where third party drivers from soundcard manufacturers completely damage the entire Windows volume control setup.

if you can search for the file and it shows up, try using a windows install disk to repair the files.

First check if you have the speakers pin (green) connected in tothe proper green socket on the back of the computer.

If yes, then right click on the sound / speaker icon that is near to your clock on the right bottom, and click "Adjust audio properties"

Now click the sounds tab in the audio properties.

Select any sound from the list under program events, and click the play button near the browse button. It should play a sound.

If you are not able to hear any sound BUT the play icon changes to the stop icon for a few  moments, it means the sounds play alright but something is wrong with the speakers or the connections.

if so then it is something other then power supply
something has caused both power supplies to blow
have you installed anything in the first emachine you talk about

Power supply sounds fine. If the pc won't power up it could be your motherboard. If the pc is powering up and you get a 'no signal' on your monitor it could be your gpu.

Hi,
dependant on how old the drive is.
the drives laser may have failed-burnt out.
the only sure way to determine the drives functionability, is to remove it and setup in another pc. assuming this is a desktop.
dvd drives, are now relatively cheap, so it might be an easier option, to replace the drive with a new one.

first of all install ur sound drivers which comes with the pc...
there are two methods of installing the drivers...First method is direct installation from cd & second method is old fashion i.e, right click on my computer go to properties the window will open in that select hardware inthat select device manager in that select sound,video,games controller open it in that audio definition will get right click on it select update drivers it will ask for location give it...thats all restart the sound will come...

I have been unable to find the drivers for this particular board you should go to http://forums.driverguide.com/ and request the file as it is not hosted anywhere currently I hope that someone still has their driver disks and uploads the files for you

I would check out the website for your monitor and see if its still under warranty. Than Go from there, You could probably order the part and install it yourself.

It is probably just your monitor telling you that everything is connected, Those emachines are pretty User Friendly, I can almost guarantee there is nothing wrong. Congrats on your new buy :)

I think there may be another issue.. It could be the power supply.. Have you tried a new one?

Have you installed any additional ram lately?

You can use the old XP software with a new motherboard, but it can be a pain in the **** to set-up if it is the OEM version of Windows, or a Recovery Disk that came with your machine..

What you could do, if you bought another motherboard, find someone with a Genuine Windows XP disk, and use your Product Key to install it..

Stop using windows media player & real player. They are both trouble. Use Gom Player it plays all video files!!!!

Solution:

i) Click on  Start button ---->Select option Control Panel------>Select Network Connections----->

   a new window appears showing the "internet connections icon " Such as:

   Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3 and since you are not connected it will show this icon as:

eg1:   Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3
       Network Cable Unplugged, Firewalled
       VIA compatible Fast Ethernet   

   in this case u can download VIA network drivers....from internet..


       or 

  eg2:  Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3
          Network Cable Unplugged, Firewalled
          Realtek RTL8139 Family Fast Ethernet NIC

   in this u can download "Realtek RTL8139" network  drivers.... from internet(which is showing model    no: RTL8139 through google search engine )


                                                          (OR)


ii) Click Start button ---->Select RUN option ----> type in the text box    devmgmt.msc  --->Select Network Adapters....

but this will show wheter ur network adapter or NIC is VIA or Realtek or......but does show the correct Model NO: of VIA or Realtek....

so i would suggest to follow the step (i)

First, Check your ram. If not seated, it will not power up. Also, do you hear a series of beeps or not? Need a better & more exact description of problem and what occurs

Does your computer recognize any other memory cards? If this is the only card that the computer is not recognizing, I would recommend a new memory card. If your computer is not recognizing any memory cards, I would recommend that you visit the pc manufacturer's web site and download the newest firmware/drivers for the card reader.

Open the machine - try to change the SMPS.
Hope the Power-oN button is not the problem.
Else there could be many reasons.
