This is either a problem with the speakers or the audio processing/amplification circuits on the A/V board. Speakers don't die suddenly. In case of speaker malfunction you will usually have several days of audible interference like disturbance before it goes dead? Did you hear anything of that sort before this happened?

Thats caused by failed convergence ICs ( stk392-120 ) and possibly some of the 6.8 ohm resistors have failed ( 12 resistors total) you can get the phillips DPTV305 - DPTV345 convergence repair kit which fits your model and it contains the 2 ICs, heat sink paste and the 12 resistors plus the CD with repair instructions. Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

It is very possible that the IC's were not installed correctly. Check and make sure you do not have any solder bridges on your pins, or that the solder pads did not pull up from the board. If all that looks good, check your resisters that are in circuit. It is possible that 1 or more was already week and popped when the new STK's were installed. You should have a setting in the menu's to change the picture size. May have to dig up the owners manual to find it though. I'm assuming the picture you do see is clear.
