looks like the rotor is jam or broken,try to unscrew it and open the top cover so you can see the rotor and then plug it in to the power source ,then always press the open/close button and check the rotor if its jam or broken and see what happen.

Please see first if the button is in a good condition or connected/placed properly if not please do this procedures bellow:

1. open it,unscrew the Recorder with all sides.
2. locate for the parts where the button is placed.
3. when you saw that part please re-arrange it.
4. connect it properly and test it again if it is still doing the same thing.

Then if it is still not working please do have a comment for further solution.

clean the lens with a dry cotton bud, and if does not work . change the lens to a new one of the same type. Question edited for clarity. It you have standby, that shows you have power. The only things you can try is a Power Reset, disconnect from the mains, for 10 minutes. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds and then plug back in. If you are using a remote, check the batteries in the remote. You can also do the check to make sure the remote is putting out a signal. Aim the remote at the front facing selfie of a smartphone. You should see a flash. There doesn't seem to be one for this chinesium speaker.Probably a throw away item and not serviceable.
