Sound isn't coming through on the sanyo ds315

Check its speaker/s first. If found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output stage circuit. Keep an attention to the audio output IC. For more information go to http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have the remote for

There is button on your remote labeled TV/AV . Press the button to get a blank screen with AV written on the screen. If your game device is connected at the back to this AV socket ( Yellow / Red / White ) you will see the game menu display.
On some of the TV remotes it might not be written TV/AV but INPUT SOURCE or just a picture of a TV screen with an arrow pointing inwards ( that LOGO is the universal symbol for INPUT )

Check is speaker first. If it is found OK, you have to check its audio output circuit section in detail.

Lock on 3

If auto program in menu will not fix this try to direct enter any known good channel and manually in menu "add" it---going to of course need a original working remote in most cases to do this.I suspect real problem is set is only programmed for 3 which is common when people use a cable box.

Vertical collapse

Yes you are right , the fault is a failure of the verrtical output. Now this can be related to a failure of the sync pulses, the vertical drive to the outputs. If you have a scope you can trace to confirm as this circuit is not available. Ideally the other way is to replace or even with the set switched on - with care- use the right value capacitors in parallel on the vertical side and the fault will clear if there is one faulty. Otherwise it can also be a fault in the vertical driver or the deflection coil, check solder joints on the output.

Width is very low plz

hit your TV lightly on left side or right side or on top & then observe ..........you will get normal picture or it comes & again it goes....if it is happening like that then following is the situation..........after 4 or 5 yrs in some TVs on main board (also on circuit board that is fixed to CRT TUBE ) at some soldering joints crack develops....then due to loose contact picture becomes small in size ...........when we hit that lightly then those loose contacts joins temporarly & again picture appears for some time............so solution is ......TV main board should be observed carefully & most of the joints should be re-soldered.......only a good service engineer can do that........even after hitting TV lightly if there is no response then main board has to be checked completely........in your case iam sure it is loose connection problem.........joints should be re - soldered ...100% it works again................this problem cannot be solved by user unless user has idea about components( resisitors, transisitors, diodes,...etc) , have soldering iron , multimeter & other tools....................so contact good TV service engineer
