Hello jpm1lo, your problem needs someone with some repair skills to assist you, firstly your TV has both a horizontal and a vertical circuit,your problem is in the vertical circuit. The IC (integrated circuit) in the vertical area should be changed together with the 2 or 3 cylindrical capacitors ( number will vary in different brand names) also in the same circuit. This will rectify your problem.....Rudney

NO VERTICAL DEFLECTION MEANS YOU HAVE A HORISONTAL BAR IN THE SCREEN?, Check the power supply for the correct voltage to the vertical circuit, check the vertical DRIVER circuit, check the conductivity of the YOKE (vertical winding) on the neck of the tube

if you have a VERTICAL bar in the screen (common mistake) check all of the above relating the HORISONTAL circuit

any big box store or radio shack should have a suitable replacement. your cable or directv or dish remote can be programmed for the tv depending on which provider you have. go to the website of which one you have and go to "remote codes" section if you dont have cable or dish then go to walmart and get a universal. the more you pay, the more features you will get. look closely at the packaging. thrift stores usually have a whole wall of old remotes in bags you can start looking there too. if you can find a sanyo vcr it may have some tv functions that might have the tv codes on it.

My son touched my television screen with a magnet in two spots leaving two discolored areas on the screen,purple and green in hue. I read many quick solutions to this problem on the net and none seemed to work completely,so what i did is took the same magnet that touched the screen and held it in my fist,then with TV on i waved my fist all around the screen working from the spots outward to the edges and this worked completely! Hope this helps someone..

I'm not sure if this will work with your TV. Some TVs will go to the other inputs if you go all the way through the channels and keep going.

you need to reprogram the channels on the tv,thats why the tv cant get out of the video 1

I assume you want the code for the service adjustments which is to hold the Menu button on the TV down then plug in the set and service menu comes up.

If you need a code for a cable box for a sanyo remote check your users manual or i need more info about the cable box.

Yes, it will certainly have a fuse, probably near where the power cord attaches to the main circuit board. Be careful if you open it up though. Even if you unplug the set, you can still get a good shock from the set's capacitors.

the first thing you should try is to connect exturnal speakers, if they work fine, then use them, as the wireing harness has a bad solder joint (inside the TV) you will need to go to yoru onscreen menu to activate the exturnal speakers. If this still occurs, then there is a major inturnal fault, with luck it is still under warrenty, otherwise it will be costly to fix. Due to teh high number if flatscreen failures I and other tech friends of mine have run into, we all agree this is the one case where extended warrentys are well worth the investment.

It is time to go to radio shack, or staples, or walmart and purchase a universal remote. Once a remote's buttons start to act up like that you need to trash it.

please find the similiar type of the tv (must good tv) remove both tv memory ic and copy from the good tv.use memory ic copier all settle ok

Just go to Radio Shack. It is a common 4amp fuse. But, if it is blown, you may have more trouble than just a fuse.
