Playing disc
any disc recorded on the liteon must be "FINALISED" before it will play on other machines.use "disctools" in the liteon menu to tdo this.
DVD Wrong Region
Turn on unit
Select DVD
Open tray
Press 0520 then in sequence press arrow up, down, left and right
Enter desired Region Code ( 0 for multi region)
Press Enter to exit
I have a dvvw 5000
These machines usually only will copy to an external dvd recorder. That is how I am able to make backups of my vhs tapes.
No video
TRY A DIFFERENT VIDEO OUTPUT SOURCE TO SEE IF ITS THE VIDEO OUT PROCESSOR MALFUNCTIONING.REPLACE THE CORDS THE VIDEO COULD BE BAD.

If the movie dosen't have close captioning the tv guardian will not work. For the tv guardian to work there has to be close captioning.
DVD player problem
I had the same problem before. I found a loose rubber ring which drives the door open/close may be the cause. Use honey wax or candle wax to wax the ring will be most likely to solve the problem. The only thing is you need open the box by yourself.

I just had the same problem and stumbled across this solution:
If this is a sanyo dvd player try this:
Enter the set-up menu (there cannot be a disc in the unit to access this menu, simply eject the disc, then enter set-up)
- For the password enter 788444 (even if there is only room for four digits enter all six)
- Press enter (the lock should open)
- Enter a new four digit code (this will lock it again)
- renter the new code to edit the settings
Overheating/ shut down
THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING, THE ONLY SOLUTION WOULD BE TO GET IT REPAIRED IF ITS UNDER WARRANTY. IF NOT ITS CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW ONE

If you rabit ears have a ribbon cable you will need a coax adaptor. Radio Shack carries them. If you cant find them, you might have to get a set of rabit ears that has coax wires. The antenna will plug into the cable in of the DVR. You take the coax output and plug that into the tv using a coax wire.
DVD Eject tray stuck
Your problem is more than likely mechanical. There is a belt that makes connection between the motor and the loading mechanism. Take the unit apart. Remove the belt it is probably in the front. Clean the belt and pullies with denatured alcohol. reassemble. The best solution is to replace the belt but this may get you working till you get one. Belt sources http://www.mcmelectronics.com/

Programming channels
Press Menu, press up and down arrows to choose the Input Select option then press side arrows to set the channel. Tuner will automatically cycle through all available channels in your area. After the Auto channel search is complete make sure the Channel source is set appropriately (TV or CATV) by pressing up and down arrows and chossing the correct source by pressing the side arrows using the channel setup menu. Press Menu to return to the TV screen. Use CH/TRK arrows or CHANNEL arrows on the front panel to cycle the DVD+VCR through the channels in memory.

Turn on power to TV, and DVD/VCR, set TV to channel 3 or 4
Insert video cassette
Select desired channel by using CH/TRK
Set the desired recoring speed (SP or EP)
Press REC once
Press STOP to stop recording.
Timer Recording,
Press Menu and the Main menu will appear.
Use up and down arrows to choose the Timer record menu
Press Select/Enter to go to the Timer Record menu.
Use arrows to choose the program no. (1-8)
Use down arrow to choose Month option
Use arrows to choose the desired month
Use down arrow to choose the Day option
Use arrows to choose the desired day
Use down arrow to choose Start Option
Use arrows to choose the desired start time
Use down arrow to choose the Stop option
