Garmin Nuvi 1300LM GPS Receiver Questions & Answers
1/2 to 1 hour b-4 getting satelite
It sounds like it needs to be forced to download and use a new data set. In the data are the times etc when it should be able to see a satellite. When this gets out of date it still find satellites but more by accident. First way to try is to use the web updater and use that to try and update the needed files.This can fix it if not then you need to do do a master reset.Charge the unit up. The reset should take less than 5 minutes but can take up to an hour depending on location etc. This is going to erase any user data such as waypoints routes etc so save those off first if you want them.
- Start with the unit OFF and unplugged from power
- Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil
- Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the unit ON
- Release the power button when the device powers ON
- You will see a new message: "Do you really want to erase all user data?"
- Remove your finger from the touch screen when this message displays
- Touch Yes
- If text language is not in English, this is the button on the right
The
device will now reset. Follow the on-screen prompts and then place your
device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires
satellites.
I have no problem. I am behind on technology.

Hi, Go to properties in menu and check that language is in english and click OK.
When the software was updated it must have changed. Good luck.
Garmen won't stick to dashboard
Hello,
What are you trying to apply to the dashboard? if you are trying to apply the suction cup it will not work. If you are finding that the dash adapter disk will not stick even after cleaning you may have used an oil based cleaner like Armor All try Rubbing alcohol to clean the area before applying the disk.

yes they can be replaced but probably cheaper to get a new one.
Give garmin a phone call to see how much it is or sell your old one on ebay and get a bit of cash to buy your new one.

Download Garmin Express from Garmin and install to your PC. Plug your GPS into your PC, Garmin Express should identify your GPS and give you options to update maps and software.
How do I turn on my Garmin Nuvi?
Go to Garmin and download and install Garmin Express, Plug your GPS into your PC. The GPS should power on and Garmin Express should identify it and tell you of any updates. If the GPS does not power on (it should go into usb mode), then contact Garmin for warranty work. You can also check the power adapter in your vehicle. If the red light does not come on, the adapter either has a blown fuse or went bad, causing your GPS battery to be discharged. It is quite possible that your battery is discharged. You might leave it plugged into your PC overnight if the battery is dead.

When encountering errors such as "No Map Data Available" and Garmin Express does not recognize your Garmin nuvi, check to see if your Garmin nuvi is out of storage space from your computer. Solution related to the fact that when brought up as the E: drive in windows there were 0 bytes free space on the Garmin nuvi. To get Garmin Express to recognize a unit which is full, do a search on the Windows Drive (E:) for "gmap" then choose "Open file location" This will get into the hidden ".system" directory. From there, delete the largest file map, such as "gmapprom" (or move this file to your hard drive). Afterward, reboot your computer to have Garmin Express software recognize your Garmin nuvi. On older units, also purchase a microSDHC card to be able to store the newest maps, such as the US & Canada 2.6Gb map file, which will not fit on the internal unit alone or a 2Gb card. The Garmin Express software will recognize 4Gb to 32Gb microSDHC Class 10 or UHS-I cards formatted to FAT32 and install the newest maps automatically to them. Some have reported that 4Gb cards are not large enough. I had used a 16Gb SanDisk Ultra PLUS UHS-I card ($10.88 Walmart) successfully on my Garmin nuvi 1450LMT
My garmin nuvi 2225 will not acquire satellites since I brought it to Europe. I loadd maps for the area but it can not find its position.
If the garmin can reach satellites in North America, it will reach satellites anywhere in the world as long as it has a clear line of site to the satellites. Depending where you are, the satellites can be higher or lower in the sky. This means that the garmin in your vehicle may not be able to see the satellites how you have it positioned in your vehicle. Try finding the satellites outside of your vehicle while in Europe. If you can, then the problem is positioning in your vehicle. The satellites are all the same kind no matter where you are.
Garmin nuvi 2225 will not acquire satellites in Europe. Worked fine in North America. I loaded maps for Europe but no action.
