I am having the same issue in 2022. Dyson says I have to buy a new machine. EVERYTHING else works perfectly and I can vacuum the floors IF I hold it almost upright. Who can clean a 2,000 square foot house with hardwood, tile and carpet like that?? Not me! I cannot believe this can't be fixed in this day and age. Am I to take it to the recycle center? What about the perfectly good 8 attachments I have for it? If I get a new one, it will come with 4 or 6 of the same attachments. This is a total waste of money in this day and age -- to say nothing of disposing it in the landfill!!! I AM NOT HAPPY with Dyson at the moment.
If the brush bar motor is running try putting on a new belt. If the motor is not running it may be the main switch, the switch that activates when you recline the handle, the motor itself or a loose wire or connector somewhere. Check the connection between the vacuum and the power head. If power isn't transferred properly the motor will not run.
You have to closely check all these areas to find the problem.
Remove the torx screws that hold the two halves of the ball shell assembly together, then the ball halves can be separated and removed from the vacuum. Take note of how they come apart and how they line up su you can reassemble them properly.
First check the cord for proper voltage, if that's good check the switch. If still good, cjpheck cord from switch to motor, if all is good check the motor.
Your vacuum has a thermal reset built into the motor. If it is getting to hot it will shut off and won't turn on until it cools down. This is a sign of a clog somewhere or the filters need to be replaced. If you are getting dust building up on the vacuum that is an indicator the filters may need replaced.
Hi Dan, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty releasing your DC25's wand, but this is likely to be simple to resolve. It probably just means that the hose was twisted around when you last replaced the wand on the machine - allowing the hose to unwind will free up the wand. Just follow these steps:

Hi Mrs Killick, it's Jack at Dyson.
To resolve this, try removing and replacing the post-filter, as shown in our filter wash video guide below:
When replacing the filter, make sure you push it firmly into place, until you hear a click from the red locking catch.

Air filter is not getting air flow.air must pass thru filter or it will pop off.I placed filter against exhaust end of shop-vac ( NOT SUCTION END) untill I got air coming out.
Hi Nadine, it's Jack at Dyson.
This can occur if the hose is twisted when you replace the wand on your DC25 after use. It's easy to resolve - just follow each of the steps shown in our video guide:
Hope this helps, but if you'd like further guidance after giving this a try, you're welcome to get in touch with our experts directly. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC25 doesn't have a traditional, user-replaceable belt. Instead, the belt is engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. The belt is protected by a sensor which shuts off the brush bar if something jams it. If the brush bar isn't currently rotating it's very unlikely to be related to the belt itself.
If you've been unable to reset the machine by removing any threads or hair from the brush bar and endcap, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take you through some further troubleshooting checks to pinpoint the cause of the issue. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
We'll look forward to speaking to you. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm if your DC25 is within the Dyson parts and labour guarantee period.
Please be aware that any remaining Dyson guarantee coverage on your machine could be void if you dismantle the cleaner head as you've described. For this reason we'd encourage you to get in touch directly for assistance rather than attempting a repair.
Pull wand out to access back of switch cover, remove screws and release tabs to remove switch cover. Pull switch out, remove wires, install new switch and put cover back on
You have a clog or restriction somewhere in the dust container or the vacuum. You will have to follow the airflow from the dust container to the brush bar to Determine where the clog or restriction is. There could be more than one.
