I need a replacement circuit board for my Astar
The failures on these LCD's are due to defective capacitors in the power supply. There are about 23 capacitors that will need to be replaced to restore the LCD power supply functionality. Check the picture to see where the capacitors are located, the power supply on your LCD is not the same but similar to the one on the picture just the capacitors are place in a different order.
Let me know if you required further assistance.

Try reseting it by just unplugging the line cord for a couple of hours. While unplugged, press and hold power button for 5 full seconds, then wait half hour more and plug back in.
If the reset does not improve it and if you have tapped on the cabinet
in a few places to see if it is a loose connection inside such as loose wires or cold solder joints, then I
suspect it to be the flyback transformer located in the horizontal
amplifier. The repair cost would be around $75 or more.

Light colored smoke comes from top of TV when first turned on
If it's like my problem with this set, the power supply gets really hot and essentially melts all of the contact cement they smear all over the PCB to keep things from coming loose. That didn't affect the set's performance and ceased after just the first few minutes out of the box. But recently, we had the same thing happen and I found that all four of 3300uf caps on the board had cooked-off, All of them were swelled and two of them had sprayed their liquid contents around their enclosure, creating the smoke.
I replaced all four of those, but the set will still not power up. I'm getting 120vac all over the "Hot" side of the board and nothing on the "Cold" side. How do I test the three PC817 optocouplers that separate the two sides of the board?
