Apple i pod

Try resetting it by first toggling the hold switch back and forward and putting it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for six to ten seconds. It should work after that.

IPod wont turn on!! HELP!!

yeah its most likely your ipods battery. if it works when its getting charged but not when its not then thats not good. mine is old and the battery is losing power a lot faster than it used to and when it almost dies and then dies it makes that noise. you can get a new battery for it. you can get them on ebay for cheap. they come with the tool to open it ( i just used 2 credit cards) and instructions to replace the battery.

My iPod (4th gen 20gig) seems to have died...

battery is not the problem, most likely your hard drive is bad, or motherboard is defective somehow, try open the ipod, and disconnect the battery, see if hard drive connector is installed properly, then plug the battery back and try to turn it on, helps 50/50, if not - replace the hard drive

Code to unlock apple ipods

yes the code can be removed by restoreing the ipod

Restore

  • Note: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure to back up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.

How to restore your iPod:
For Windows:

  • 1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
  • 2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
  • 3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes.
  • 4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
  • 5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
    • Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
    • Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
    • Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
    • Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
  • 6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
  • 7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
  • 8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

I forgot my code for my 2GB ipod nano

If you forgot the security code you will have to open up ITunes and hook up your Ipod to your computer. In the Ipod settings under Itunes select restore your Ipod to factory settings. This will erase the code feature. You will have to reload your songs and activate a new key code on your Ipod if needed,

My ipod says www.apple.com/support/ipod

Guys, if you have the ipod photo, I used to get the hard drive locking up , which would bring up the www.apple.com/support/ipod screen.

WHen you try to start it up, put the ipod to your ear and listen to hear if the hard drive is stuck-ie if you can hear the drive repeating a clicking noise, then it is stuck.

If it does this, hit the ipod with an open hand (like a slap). No joke. This is for real. Slap it a couple of times and then try to restart it. If it doens't work the first time, try it again. SOmetimes it works first go, sometimes it takes a few, but eventually it does work.
It seems like the hardware inside is stuck for some reason and slapping it fixes the problem.

My ipod has locked up about 5 or 6 times and each time it has worked for me.

Give it a go. Don't pay apple to get it fixed. They probably do the same thing and charge you hundreds for it.

Good luck!
