Your power supply probably has some capacitors or resistors that are beginning to weaken, it will eventually stop working all together.

Faulty caps, if you take the back cover off of the monitor, there are 2 boards on the outside edges of the left and right of the monitor. these boards are covered by metal shields. remove the 3 screws on each board shield and slide them off.(careful this can be tricky) on the boards are 2 capacitors that need to be replaced. 4 total, 2 on each board. the capacitors are 150uf at 35 Volts. go to your local electronics repair shop to get the parts and tools needed to do this repair.
make sure to get the polarity of these caps right. stripe side on cap goes to the minus.

Yes I tried it and now I have nothing, not even a green light. So much for that. I have 2 of these sets. If you never unplug them from 110 I never have a problem. Un plug them and wait 2-3 days and nothing.
Any lawyers what to take this on?

Did the screen flashes on for a second?
Check the power supply module for caps with leaking/bulging tops, if it flashes on for seconds, then try replacing the caps on the master and slave inverter boards.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series. Please post back what you find.

Power supply board is the problems.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

This is the way all of these fail. Don't buy Dell TV's.
Try this internet posted solution.
Turn on TV with remote control, if the TV does not light-up, find the Main Power Switch. Turn the switch off, then turn it on, the TV lights-up. Probably caused by poor contacts due to age and low quality parts.

Incase the inverter board has shorts circuits that caused the 12/24vdc power supply to shut down, try disconnecting the power cable from the power supply that goes to the backlight inverter board to see if the 12/24vdc come back, if not, you need to find out if the power supply is getting the PS_ON signal at one of the power supply connector (you will have to trace out the board to see which pin that will be unless it is labeled on the Power supply board). No bad DC filter caps that you can see?

I agreeing with Guru it might be the blown fuse at the power supply
the tv serviceperson has a meter to test if is the fuse
is bad.

This sound like a lamp issue when this type of thing happens there is always a lamp problem change your lamps that will be a 95% that will fix your issue

AAAHHHHHH WE'VE GOT MAJOR PROBLEMS!!

I can not be 100% sure without actually looking and testing the TV, but my guess would be a Backlight Inverter Board problem. It's what power the screen itself. One board powers the LEFT side and one power the RIGHT side.

Just make sure the part number matches up. The board brands maybe different, but it's the same circuit board regardless. The part number itself what matters.

You do have a DVI input for this Dell W3000 so to connect to a box that has HDMI you will need a HDMI to DVI cable. When you connect to a cable/DVD or satellite box via HDMI/DVI you will have to run separate connectors for audio as this setup wont pass sound to the TV. Please take a moment to rate my answer. It's the Electrolyte Capacitor ( Elco )on the Vertical board that already damaged, try replace it with new ones.

Have you verified #1 that your outlet is putting out 120 VAC? Have to checked input power fuse inside chasis? What about a stuck power on switch? Unplug all access. except the TV and try powering it on.

NO VOLUME bars means your Display panel isn't even PRIMING (that's when the panel "gently lights up" before the video comes online)

That also means that either the X-sus, Y-sus or the Z-sus board isn't powering up the pixels....I doubt the power supply is faulty since you dont get the sound.
it has to be checked by a meter to locate the faulty part.

Make sure AC wire is plugged securely at back of TV and in wall socket.
Do you see standby or any light at front of TV?
Does TV switched ON?

The tv only has a NTSC (analog) tuner built in. So if you don't subscribe to a cable or satelite company and you get your broadcast from an antenna at your house, you will need a converter box.
