omg man i cant believe you have the same problem. I honestly dropped my remote half a foot and it just stopped working! i even changed the batteries and it still doesnt work. the shock from the drop is clearly not that bad to break it?.

If you meant to say "when I turn on my TV, it turns on for a second then turns off", call Hitachi.

if its a w1900 this is a known setting. Press the menu button on the right hand side of the TV (second button UP, just above power/standby. Now, WHILE THE MENU LOCK MESSAGE IS BEING DISPLAYED, press CH ^ and VOL - AT THE SAME TIME. Menu unlocked message should be displayed.

And you're done.

Might take a couple of tries - this tv/monitor is a bit fiddly...

Dell are a bunch of rip off artists.

Dell tv/monitors turn off if there is no input coming from the selected input. In this case DVI, try powering on the TV and using the menu buttons along with the channel Up/down buttons on the tv to select a different input.

I have the same problem also. I am assuming that the power supply is bad. I have looked everywhere and can not find a replacement or the pinout on the supply. If anyone can find a service manual or a replacement board, please let us know.

I have checked all the connections and replaced all the cables with the highest quality I could buy.  I think the problem is in the TV tuner itself.  I live in a MDU so I am stuck with a rooftop satellite/master antenna.

Has it always forgotten the channels when you unplug it or is this just a recent development? I know that on my old standard tube television or VCRs, the channel memory is always reset if they are unplugged - the same being true if the power goes out.

your TV is having problem in the power supply area or th secondary power supply where the micro processor is situated.take it to a qualified techn to be repaired.
