User manual

The RD1072 uses standard AAA batteries, disposable or rechargeable. If you want to use rechargeable batteries, you must charge them outside the player using a separate battery charger. You may view/download a copy of the manual at http://www.fixya.com/support/p211513-rca_lyra_rd1072_256_mb_mp3_player/usermanual-E283694-pdf

My m3904-a wont turn on

I had the same problem and I found a solution to make it work but do this ONLY as a last resort because this ERASES all of your files and you will have to download them again. Plug your mp3 into the computer. If your mp3 doesn't register on the computer then hold down the start button on the mp3 and hit the RESET button on the back of the mp3 with a toothpick. Once it registers on the computer, hit the start button on the computer, click on Computer, then go to the drive that is associated with your mp3. Right click on that drive. Click on Restore Device Defaults. I am not a pro but this worked for me. Good luck!

You can use Windows Media Player to add music to your mp3 player.
You can delete music from your mp3 player by doing the following:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that
you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want,
release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

When i try to transfer files to my device i get a

According to your manual, you device does NOT have a write protect feature.
Get your manual here:
http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=8093d57f74f10c7ac0fed7aecc49455f&rk=0.03367205450935784

HOWEVER, the data card does. While holding the data card with the metal showing on the botton towards you, on the left edge, there is a "write protect" tab.

change the position of this slide switch, then re-insert into the RCA device. It should no longer be locked.

Good luck, and don't forget to vote.
