Wrong file type. that why it does not play.

Press and hold STANDBY/ON while holding STOP for 3 seconds this will reinitialize the unit but did not solve my issue

Have the same problem with this piece of junk.
Tried all the solutions. Clean lens etc. Nothing helped.
Tried replacing the drive with another that I had. No go, apparently has some proprietary firmware.
I was about to throw it in the trash when I suddenly realized that it had a TV tuner. Hooked it up to my computer through a Pinnacle Dazzle interface and VOILA I had a hard drive recorder. I either just watch it on my monitor or burn a DVD if it is something I want to keep. Hey that is better than pitching something you paid $300 bucks for in the trash. You can pick up a dazzle or similar on EBAY for a lot less than a new Hard disc recorder will cost you.

well the problem is that the machine are not closing the dvds, you say you go step by step, but it realy is not closing the disc, it can play the not close dvd, but you cant play in a regular dvd player, I dont think is a cleaner problem, but try any way, blow dry air by the dvd port, and see, if not you got a damage one...god luck

Sounds like the slider assy., tracking motor, or the rail is gunked up. If you know how to disassemble the slider by all means take apart ans see if theres any dirt or hair tangled inside the gears or track. If you dont, you should let a tech take a look at it, as if you take something apart that shouldnt have been disassembled, it will cost ya double to repair. Also the tech will have all the proper alighnment tools and disc to properly get the unit back up and running. Not alot a consumer can do nowadays to repair solid state electronics! Good Luck

Have you tryed the obvious? Cleanning the lens ? Now sometimes you have to unplug the unit and take off the top cover and take a cotton swab and apply a smidge of alcohal Just a drop and slighty clean the lens very carefully. thgen make sure you let itr dry well. Good Luck

Try to check the power supply output side where anything could came into contact with positive and negative line for which when you press play button then it shuts down.

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.) I hope this helps. Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.
