Suspect your POWER SUPPLY. Either your supply is faulty OR something else in your TV is demanding too much CURRENT (from the supply) and your supply may be 'protecting itself' with 'emergency shutdowns'.
These links and PHOTO WILL help you ~ if you are serious about repairs!
I know it's not quite the same model number as yours, but the steps and efforts remain similar.
RCA TV repair 52 HDTVRecent Questions Troubleshooting Support for RCA D52W19 52 Rear Projection...Finally, this REAL 'old puppy' that DEMANDS LOTS of AC POWER to fire-up your 3 'super-bright' projector lamps inside! Are you sure you won't consider pushing this TV to the curb instead of investing HOURS of your life to fix this one?
I'm confident you have spent LOTS MORE on your POWER BILL (over the years) than the cost of a NEW Flat Screen model! GO ahead ~ you deserve a quality TV... but stick to known brands like LG - VIZIO and Panasonic to avoid the "no parts/boards available" problem (way down the road).
*(Your TV is so old that the Internet has NO CLUE when they first made this model)*? Also I see a whole ARRAY of problems with this series and it's no surprise that yours has similar problems!

The problem is the driver for the green tube. Without test equipment this could be hard to track down. Also the fluid is just to keep those high intensity tubes from overheating.
you must check the light indicator if how many times does it blink which tell the main problem or the error code of the tv. either the power supply doesn't work normally or the lamp need replacement.
Sadly, it sounds like a power supply in the set has failed. I can think of no other possible "user solution" remedies here... Sometimes there are capacitors in the power supplies that 'bulge', due to heat (or inferior part quality), and these can be replaced inexpensively. If you feel so inclined, and use extreme caution (unplug set for at least 12 hours first), you can take a look. Search with Google images for "bad caps" to get plenty of examples what you would be looking for.One thing to keep in mind about rear projection sets... the projection arc lamps do NOT take kindly to being "short-cycled"... in other words, turning it ON, lamp ignites, starts to put out light... then gets turned OFF. This can cause catastrophic failure on these lamps in short order.Hope it's not too serious!
You can replace it with a ceramic capacitor. They are interchangeable, but ceramic disc capacitors are considerably more nonlinear in their voltage and frequency response compared to film capacitors. Ceramic caps can also be microphonic. (Source: https://www.apogeeweb.net/electron/the-film-capacitor-and-its-application.html )
The small signal board is the most likliest cause of that issue which is a very famous symptom for the ITC222 and ITC222A chassis RCA models. You can usually get the small signal board from www.tvrepairworld.com several versions were used so they can assist with identifying which version ssb your model requires.
hello!Have you tried to toggle "format" or "screen size"? On those sets non HD and HD settings could be adjusted separately. Try that, first. If no luck, try similar settings on PS3. I bet, you will be able to match screen format there, as well. To me it looks, like picture formats are mismatched. Also: try to use "component" cables, instead of DVI adapter cable, if nothing works.good luck,Alex.
I would say it cannot be programmed. If me, I would GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER (ON BACK OF SET) TO LOCATE AN EXACT (NOT UNIVERSAL) REMOTE FOR THIS SET---should be lots of them at a reasonable price out there.
If attached photos look like what it does it is a convergence problem common in the RCA sets.Frankly I do not like these sets and if You GOOGLE the model number with "convergence" or "problems" you will a ton of them with that problem. The real trouble is most sets (even the early RCA) have the convergence circuit almost 100% on one board and use one or two chips for this. This set has it spread across two or three boards and all the parts are RCA only.Considering how poorly made that set is I would not if someone gave me one take it or repair it.The photos will tell you if it is your problem--no two sets look exactly the same but you will know from the pictures if it is your trouble.
