How to log in to router
Open an internet browser, in the address area type in 192.168.0.1 (this is the normal address used by the router). Once the router access screen appears try usinfg the factory default login USER = ADMIN, PASSWORD = MOTOROLA.If this does not work you can try using the reset button on the rear of the router to reset it's setting to factory default settings and try the above method again.NOTE: If you are unsure about anything you can also try asking your ISP how to access the router settings. (If you received the router from an ISP). Otherwise use the manual at this internet location for more information.

The receiving button on my Motorola SBG6580 is
Its supposed to be blue. Blue means you're getting a "bonded" channel signal. If it was green you would one be getting a single channel. It's in the manual and box. The PDF is available from Motorola as well. Google does wonders.

Error message means that the hardware manufacturer provided you with wireless software as an alternative to Windows Wireless Zero Configuration service. Try to activate the windows wireless configuration zero. See procedure below:
Launch Windows Zero Configuration
Click Start menu and select the Run. Enter %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s and click OK.
Double-click on the option labeled Wireless Zero Configuration. Then, go to the Startup type list and click Automatic. Click Apply to confirm the changes. Click Start in the Service status section and OK to apply the changes.

Hi,
Although there is some reference to WEP as a security function it appears that they have upgraded their device away from allowing it any more. So old hardware could, but software programming to make it work is missing.
Here is there manual (http://www.midcocomm.com/_files/files/SBG6580.pdf) and page 22 references the allowable types and WEP is not one of them. Yet there is documentation which appears to be out of date with the product.
