Need new on/off switch.
You can easily buy it from the Electronic Components shop. Or u may even restore your old switch. Try putting a drop or 2 of Philips Switch cleaning oil in it. I can get it for u if u like.

Need to run the recovery XP disk
Since you have the XP licence key, try to get hold of an XP install CD and do a repair installation, using your own key when asked for it.

Outlook Express
Go to each of your OE folders. Press CTRL and A to select all in that folder. Go to your backup folder for example email inbox backup, and pres CTRL and V. This will paste all teh selected files into the backup folder. You can also use drag and drop. Repeat for each OE folder. I hope I have understood what you want to do properly. I have assumed by OE files you mean all your mail. You can also create a backup by exporting your files.

NORTHGATE PC stac2217L driver for card reader and modem
I just Googled modem drivers and came up with several. Among them were driverforum.com and driverguide.com where people will send you files you need. If your machine has the same kind of modem that mine came out with it is a HSP56 MR by PCtel.Inc. I use Belarc Adivsor to tell me what all the files are on my computer and it said that was my modem. If I can find my modem drivers i would be willing to email them to you. I have no paper manual except the Motherboard one that came with this machine. It is a SYNTAX S651M

Can not install print workshop
Try a clean install:
Removing the software and reinstalling it using a "clean boot" may resolve the symptoms you are experiencing. Booting clean is a way to eliminate programs from conflicting with installation of software.
1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
3. Locate the listing for the software and remove it. When prompted to remove the camera drivers files, click Yes.
The following is the procedure for a 'clean boot'. I am assuming that you have XP. If you have a different OS, just let me know and I will send you the appropriate procedure to boot clean in that OS.
1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart
After restarting, reinstall the software. Next , do the following:
1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. Replace checkmarks in the items that you previously removed them from.
3. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
4. Click OK
5. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer
Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions,
please feel free to post them here.
P.S. Before you assign a rating, please
make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post
back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will
try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or
‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first
response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary
before we can find a fix or an answer to
your query.
If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you
to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating.
I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
Thank you for using FIXYA!
Cheers!

Northgate not booting correctly from HD
If you can't get it to boot from last known config, safe mode, or anything else, you won't get it to boot from CD. Sounds to me as if the HD has failed.

Open up the case and look at the motherboard. Somewhere on the motherboard you will see a little silver battery that looks just like a watch battery. Take it out for about 30 seconds then put it back in.

Sparks from back of computer
Please don't turn it back on. Unplug your computer from the wall and examine the wall socket for blackened or burned sections. It is likely that dust has caused a short in your computer. Sadly, most times this means that you are going to need a new computer or at the very least, some new parts. Take it to a reputable computer repair shop near you and have them test the power supply and other components to see what is salvageable of your computer. With any luck, your hard drive contents MAY have survived but there is no guarantee.
