Sudden channel changing, flipping off and on and channel searching

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Rca model f36649 s-video hookup to laptop computer

Depending on how many hook ups you have on your tv it may have a factory designated channel. Example: Video 1, Game, etc. I know my TV has several different video channels. It's more a matter of trial and error until you find the vidoe channel for your oulet. Input channels are usually found before channel 1. Or look on your remote and see if it has a button to switch the channel to your input channel. Good Luck.

How much would you sell a 36" tv for

Hi iglidewell
In the last 7 years the price of plasma and lcd tvs has dropped quit a bit, so that makes it a popular choice.
But there are still die hard fan for the tube types, so you could ask from around $150 to $200 for it, or a quick sale at a 100 bucks.
Merry Christmas
P.S please do not rate this answer(unless it helps) since this is only a suggestion.

Can't get dvd player to work on this tv!!!

im guessing that you cant go to av mode because you dont have a remote, am I right? if thats the case you need to go to walmart and buy an RF converter. You can plug you dvd into the converter, then run a coax cable from the converter to your tv coax inout aka anteanna input, then depending on your converter switch your tv to either channel 3 or 4 and presto. it will hook up just like vcr's and onld nintendos use to. You can pick up an RF converter cheap at walmart or check e-bay, couple bucks and your watching dvds.

RCA F36649 36" TV

I had this happen. (ontop of the button board infront shorting out). I took the back off, and if your looking at the screen it'll be on your right. There is a metal box with two ribbons coming out of them, I unplugged both and plugged both in, and now she turns on without any issues. Not sure why, but it works. Now if I could get some help finding the circut board with the front buttons on it. I.e channel up down and volume.

No picture, sound ok

Rca has been known to have bad solder joints in the deflection circuits. Usually around the flyback and transformers.. check it over real good. Just be careful as you can still get shocked after the powers removed the capacitors and picture tube will hold a charge in them.

Buzzing noise with no picture or sound.

The power supply is telling you that it has a short. I think you have a bad high voltage transformer in the horizontal deflection circuit. I've repaired several RCA's with this very same problem. The newer RCA's are vert prone to high voltage transformer failure ! Stargazer

TV is on and just suddenly starts changing channels

the switches in the front of the tv are usually the cause of this kind of problem. the fix is to replace all of the switches, because if 1 is bad the others are not far behind. each switch from rca is $5 to $10 each. good luck.

RCA F36650 36" 2002 xbox ready tv

Yes it is the Horizontal Output and a few capacitors and resistor that needs changing. If you are good at desoldering and soldering you could do this. I think on this set its the Q4401, caps C4402, Cr 4402, Check Q4802, C4102, If you just want to try new parts and hope it works then you have to check voltages at different points to fix set. Now it also could be Bad Flyback in this set too. I have seen where you change flyback and horizontal output and c4402 would do it. R4118, R4114

F32672sb pincushion

The pincushion is something that happens to this particular set. You may have the blue box type Capacitor in this set if not then a more brown or redish orange cap. I believe it is C4401. Most of the time its behind the Horizontal output. The cap gets leaky, most of the time it's a .47uf @250v. Try this, hope this helps
