High pitch sound coming from circuit board, cannot
First, you will want to isolate the problem. Is it feedback from an AC outlet you have it plugged into? Is it a recent noise that just started with no changes to Tv or its environment, then you may want to consider that a circuit is going and decide if it is worth repairing, You should find that type of fix at a shop for under $100
Recently purchased a rca tv model F35317, parental
If you forget your password, press and hold TV on the remote and the
MENU button on the television
simultaneously for 3 seconds. Parental
controls will then unlock and you can re-enter a password via Lock
Parental Controls.
Make sure you aim the remote at the TVs sensor while you press the TV button, and hold the menu button in on the front of the television.
Hope this helps you out.
Thanks
Try to turn tv on but just keeps turning on and
I am having the same problem.
This might be a temporary solution so you can watch the set.
Place a deck of cards that you don't plan on ever using, under the base of TV on the right side. You should hear a sound of a circuit connecting. Now turn it on.
Did that work?
Ultimately, the set will need some repair work to fix the circuit board or whatever is causing the problem.
Picture is no longer in focus. Remote unable to
Look at the back of the TV set.
Locate the two small holes at the lower part of the set.
You want the one that has an F for focus above it.
Using a very tiny screwdriver, insert it and turn it to the left or right until the picture sharpens.
Happy TV viewing!
Made a weird high pitch sound and turned off. will
Hi,
Do You hear Any Sound when you Turn ON the TV?
Anyway, Unplug the TV for few Minutes and Disconnect the Power Supply. Turn it ON after Few Minutes, If that Works, Great!!
Unless, it sounds like the Power Supply was Short Circuited. This is a Common Problem in most of these Models. You need to Open the TV.Look for the Power Supply Board. Unplug the Wires from that Board and then Pull out the Board. Using a Magnified Glass, Check if there is any Broken Soldering. If yes,Again De Solder the joint. Look Visually for Swelled / Leaked / Bulged Capacitors ( I am pretty positive, you might have any one of these, as you have heard a high pitch sound which might confirms a blown capacitor ). They would give Ammonia kind off odor. Take a note of the Part Number, either Order it Online or you could go Radio Shack or Local Hardware Shop to buy it. Once, you Solder the New Caps, it would be all set.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Sony kp51ws510 convergence problem
dry a degausing coil.. maybe try the yoke deflection .. its nasty i know.. but if it dosent work.. maybe u need a new tube.. not worth it in my opinion.. price of a new tv.
Looks like a lightning bolt when I turn on the TV.
Unfortunately, this is what we call in the industry total meltdown due to merging circuitry. you will have to replace the entire circuit arrangement in this set. the audio ic's are probably the only components that are still operational. this repair will cost quite a bit to be honest. you may be better off purchasing a new set. sorry for the bad news there.
Circuit board removal
The whole plastic holder will need to be slide out by removing two screws holding it from underneath. Once you have the whole plastic holder out, remove the "F" connector nut and the power cord from it along with some small plastic like pins that hold the audio/video RCA plugs. Look for a couple of screws holding the board to the holder and then hold the board and slide the holder out.
Good Luck.
Rf connector broke off
your in luck the set can be repaired. a replacement F connector is available pt # 215543 from any RCA parts disributor. Have a tech help you with the replacement it can be tricky. in the mean time if you have a VCR use that with the compsite video hookup to the tv and let the VCR be your tuner.
Dark and red picture
First you can up the screen voltage, by finding the HV transformer. It has Screen and Focus control on it this it the Transformer that is in back of set and has an anode lead going to Picture tube. Come up on the screen control slowly and if the picture brightens with vertical lines then it's too high, The red problem is a small transistor that maybe located on the CRT board. It's probably shorted. There are about 3, each going to the different colors Red, Blue, Green.
Possible picture tube problem
Sounds like the tech you had there isn't too familiar with the CTC chassis. I doubt that your problem is the CRT. RCA ctc chassis have a problem with the tuner grounds breaking and this allows pulses to spike on the data control lines for the eeprom which can reprogram it and cause just about any problem from a dead set to a perfectly normal set and everything in between. First this should be eliminated by opening the tuner cover on the bottom of the board and resoldering the 28 connections if necessary. If the tuner is ok then it sounds like the paramaters in the service menu should be checked. There is no perfect number to set the paramaters to. It depends on the characteristics of the unit and is different on each set and determined by the tech. The service manual gives a procedure but I've been doing it so long I can get the drives close enough by using the black in the picture as a guide for the individual drives (raise them till you see the color in black areas and back off till it just goes away). In most cases this is more than satisfactory. If the paramaters do not solve the problem you probably have a componenct failure. It should not cost much to repair no matter what it is. First get a new tech, one that is qualified, to look at it. Good luck.
Black and white screen only on DSTV?
RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.)
I hope this helps.

(One of my family's TVs used a dongle to condense the analog video signal to a single port, swapping blue and green gave a black and white output, IIRC.)
I have an RCA re20qp80 remote that the mute button doesn't work
Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.

I Want code list for RCA 4- device universal remote
You need the TV codes not the remote ones. I would use the Remotes code search feature as the Sanyo has allot of codes and you may spend hours going through them.

Where is the fuse located on a rca flat screen tv
The fuse on an RCA flat screen TV is typically located on the power supply board near one of its corners. The power supply board is the board with an array of capacitors, resistors, and heat sinks on it . The fuse is a small cylindrical tube with metal caps and is relatively small compared to other components on the board . If you have never seen a circuit board before, finding the fuse may be tricky. You can consult the user manual for your TV if you need help locating the fuse .
TV Fuse Replacement Guide: Locating and Replacing Your TV Fuse - PointerClicker.com
Replacing the fuse should be done with caution, especially if it is soldered to the board, as errors could lead to costly damage. You can check if the fuse is blown visually or with a multimeter-like tool. If you are unsure about how to replace the fuse, it is best to seek professional help.
